Sunday is for Fathers

Postby RA. » Sun Jun 17, 2012 3:21 am

Happy Fathers Day to those of you who are one!!!!

I'm off to Johnny Miles to run a half today. I'll be thinking of my dad at some point of the race! I'm sure he'd have loved to be there to see it.

Good luck to all the racers today - Manitoba, Johhny Miles, and wherever else!

Happy Father's Day!
Back from the woods and the creek with C-Moss (wanted to get her out for her long walk before it got too hot)
I'm on my own this weekend and a friend invited me to church so I accepted....haven't been to church in eons.
Then a short run later in the day...probably at LeMoine's.
Out for dinner tonight...I'm tuturing (on a volunteer basis) a new immigrant from Iran and she has invited me to her home for an Iranian feast...looking forward to this :D :D

Just back from a 10K / 44:02 race at the Alterna Ultimate Run for Men's Cancers this morning, along the Canal ... Bumped into AndyM, Carm, Scrummy and mas_runner afterwards, for a short chat, before heading home .. It was pretty hot out there this morning, around 24C and sunny .... 8)

Legs may have still been a bit pooped from yesterday impromptu 8K race in Perth, however .... though, my average pace was about 3-4 seconds per km faster today for the 10K ... ;)

Short run and brunch with my sis, then to the Rockabetty store. Home to tidy, do laundry and watch Bend it Like Beckham.

9km on tired legs this morning. Not the best run... one that I will call junk miles. Off to se the RCMP Musical Ride this afternoon. Hoping the rain holds off.

46:16 at the Alterna 10km. Not the sub 45 I was gunning for but I am pleased after recovering well from a very tough section between 5 and 7 km and a the blister that started bothering me in the last 2km.

Spotted Andy at the fisnish line and had a brief chat with Carm, Scrummy and AndyM. It was hot out there!

Did 19k this morning, then home to make breakfast for my DH - with "help" from the kids! One of those runs that started out hard, then felt great! Perfect weather, beautiful morning, and felt surprisingly good after a fair bit of running and biking this weekend.

Happy fathers day to the RM dads, and good luck to the racers!

Barrie Half Marathon for me today in 1:58. Not my fastest, and I've definitely leveraged all I can off my spring marathon training...time to get back into training! This is a great event for anyone interest in the future. Great bling too, that has magnets on the back if you want to use it that way instead!

Happy Father's Day!

I did a long run this morning, 21.4km in just over 1:57 with no ITB pain! 8) I'm looking forward to the steak dinner tonight with my dad. Congrats to the racers today- lots of great results!

Mark - When you introduced yourself, you didn't give your screen name, so I didn't realize who you were! Great to finally meet you!

Donna - I love Bend it like Bekham! I should see if they have it on netflix - would love to watch it again.

Jo-jo - yum!

Congrats to all the other racers!

It was race day for me as well - I did the 5 km (race report posted!), plus about 2 km to and from the race site to warm-up (not that it was really necessary on a warm day like today!).

The dad in this house was away for the weekend and will get home in time for dinner. Can I call two uninterrupted nights sleep plus sleep-ins in a hotel his gift?

Happy Father's Day Strider and all the wonderul RM Dads! Thinking back to all the special memories of my Dad who passed away 5 years ago on Thursday and missing him.

23 kms this morning in the heat - mixed road and trail and mixed flat and hills with 6 x 20 second strides. Very hot and tired and done at the end, but pretty good all things considered - hosted a girls pool party yesterday and didn't sit much. Pretty wiped now.

After the run, went to a lovely Father's Day brunch for Strider with his Mom and the kids. Great day!

Smile and be happy Maniacs!

10km "run" done. I put "run" in quotes because I walked a bunch of it. :(
