Just the bike ride to work and home for me today. When is it going to get easier? The hill on the bridge seems to be growing.

Open water swim after work today. I didn't ride my bike in today because I am teaching, needed to be in early, and didn't want to have to deal with changing clothes, etc.

It never gets easier, you just get faster. ;)

Morning!

4.1km done this morning. Legs were heavy for the 1st half. Glad that's done with :D

A happy run done in the woods done today--about 4.8k. The trail has missed me this summer; it even had moss growing on it in places.

Good morning! A tough one, today - woke up with a headache and feeling very tired, ended up sleeping in a half hour. The last thing I wanted to do was get up and go for a run, but I also knew that sleeping in would just leave me groggy and "blah" for the rest of the day. I finally talked myself into my running gear by deciding that all I had to do was keep moving - it could be running, jogging or walking, it didn't matter. It ended up being mostly some slow-ish running, for a total of about 9 km. And it was better than doing nothing.

I am trying not to complain, and trying to acclimatize, but summer weather that is nice for everything else is just so hard for running! 20 C and sunny at 6:30 a.m. is way too warm for me. Already dreading my weekend long run.

However, it is Friday, so Happy Friday everyone! And who cares about Friday the 13th, anyway?!?!

Rest day for me- good thing too. My allergies hit me hard yesterday and I felt totally wiped out. Got 9 hours of sleep last night- feel much better today.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Lucky for some and unlucky for others. Had my bone scan today and I have a definite "hot spot" at the head of the second metatarsal on my right foot. Since the pain has reared its ugly head and gotten progressively worse after each of the last 3 soccer games played on cement-like fields...I'm going with a stress fracture and not bone cancer of really bad arthritis. Will see the doc next week when she gets the official results. 6-7 weeks of no running/soccer puts paid to Wineglass and New York although I might be able to jog the 5K at the Army Run. This has been a fun 12 months!!
Anyone have a second hand "fracture boot"?

Sucks Nick. When I had my heel stress fracture it was just 6 weeks no running and then did a return to running program I can share. No fracture boot, sorry, just avoided "hammering" the heel. Rest is best. Wineglass Marathon is not lucky for RM'ers it seems, you still have a shot at NYC.
