Headed out for an inspired 12K / 56 minute tempo run this morning after having watched the Olympic Marathon ... Was quite a pleasant 19C overcast above with a slight breeze throghuot ... Legs felt relatively peppy, even after yesterday's 30K lsd effort ... 8)

Hard to believe that the 2012 London Olympics is almost over .... I must admit to have spent a lot of hours attached to the tube over the past 2 weeks ... :shifty:

Some Olympic inspiration over here too - 10k in 1:06 (reasonably speedy for a Sunday run for me) after watching the marathon. After 3 weeks on holiday with not much running but a lot of mountain hiking, it felt great!

Race day!

Not the greatest. I had a fantastic first half, but the humidity got to me a bit and I slowed.

10 miles in 1:26:45. Good for ninth in my age group!

Still trying to figure it out. It's all good though. :)

Just in from my 10-Miler. I'm really happy with my result: 1:35:19 (20/61 in AG). Time for some bacon now. :)

I moved my long run to Sunday this week because it was DH's birthday yesterday, so I was without my usual running buddies. I was still up early! 20 km and change, partially along the canal. My hip is bugging me a bit, so I need to baby it, I think.

Been away for a bit trying to heal up. Finally got a 6km run in today without any problems. With a bit of luck, I am through this rough patch and can start to enjoy running again.

Congratulations to Lisa and La on their races today, I wish I could have done it with you - next time maybe!

River Run half marathon today - new PB of 1:37 flat (by my watch, no official time yet). I was just hoping to break 1:40, very happy. This was also the provincial 10k road championship - my 10k split would have won me the AG!

Congrats to all the racers today - those are some nice results!

25k for me this morning - perfect weather for running!

Rest day, as I recover from yesterday. Turns out my blisters are preventing me from wearing shoes... Good thing it is sandal weather!

With that said, I have already run a bunch of errands today and have a lot of housework to do, so the day is a little less restful than I would like!

7km done in rain.
It was fine...and meant I could send some vibes to our Canadian Marathon Men while I was out there running.

8 km done with the Bonsor group. I voted for our usual route with frequent street lights because I was tired and sore from yesterday's run. Naturally perverse circumstances intervened to ensure that every light turned green just as we approached it :(. Oh well, I survived and can spend the rest of the day on the couch watching the Closing Ceremonies

No run for me today, just 1 1/2 hours of mountain biking. so much Fun! Decided to cut it shore due to the rain making the trails really slick.

130K?! Was this an ultra race you were doing?

21k LSD run completed today -- the heat has finally broken, so it was a relatively cool 25, with a slight breeze. And Ruby the Wonder Dog joined in. She was so zoned in and tired at the end that I didn't even have to leash her -- she just stayed at heel.

But I've discovered a whole new place that needs BodyGlide....running is a learning process.

1:38:21 half today. Course PB by about 2 mins but off the mark of my June half by about 2 mins.

Nice to chat with Jump145 afterwards. It's too bad the 5k ended up being a bit of a gong show.

It was good to see you Rob.

The cyclist leading the 5k didn't know the course (I heard him say so when we were at the start line) and there was no course marshalls to be seen until about the 3k mark. We noticed we were off-course about 2.3k. I ended up running 6.1k, though I slowed my pace once I knew the distance wasn't going to be accurate.

Still had fun, good pancakes afterwards, and got a 3 pack of socks in the draw. :)

Rest day for me today. My back is still not quite right and my whole body just aches, almost like a flu. Figure it's a good day to take a rest day and told my body to enjoy it, it isn't getting two in a row  Did manage to vacuum up the hair of five dogs, one of whom is blowing coat, and otherwise worked on the computer most of day while watching olympics.

Have a great evening everyone!

11k pace run yesterday and just over 2 hours on the trails at Hockley Valley this morning in my new Brooks Cascadias. Plus some Dirty Girls volunteering and some family visiting. It's been a good weekend. 8)

No rest day or race day for me, just 31 km starting around 7:00 a.m. Nice to have some cooler (although of course nowhere near what I'd call "cool") weather after all that heat and humidity. This was my first 30+ km run for the NYC training cycle and it felt tough towards the end. That always happens, and with luck the next one will feel just that little bit more "normal".

Congrats to the racers today - some great results!

I think it was a bike ride. ;)
