Switching things around a little, and moving my rest day to Saturday -- so there will be a run at lunch, swimming after work, and another short run after that.... and then a whole evening of "home" stuff so that Saturday can be a FULL rest day

Re: Hello Thursday!
I went for my first run since spraining my ankle nearly 3 weeks ago. Just a very easy 10 minute run but it felt good to get back to running.

glad to hear that!
5 km with the stroller this morning - C asked to go for a run when she got up! It was about 10 degrees colder this morning that yesterday - this happens every fall where I totally forget what to wear when it's cold.

Re: Hello Thursday!
Good run this morning- 18K with 13K at marathon pace.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.
Re: Hello Thursday!
40-min walk to work this morning. TTC home because I have a bunch of crap to bring with me as I'm teaching tomorrow.
I had a great run last night! ~7.7K in ~43 minutes (5:39/km). I ran a route with some uphill in the first 3K, but I was flying on the downhill on the way back.

Morning!
A really nice 10K in the cool temps this morning. 6X 250m hills, followed by 7 by approx 100m strides. The rest was at an easy pace.

Re: Hello Thursday!
Despite a solid 8 1/2 hours of sleep (can NOT remember the last time I did that!) and despite the marathon looming on the horizon I woke up with zero motivation to go for my run. I started to get ready, sat down, cuddled with Mr Caleb, and that was that. I am just wiped. I think the training and the stress of caregiving for both my Mom and now my Aunt for 10 months has taken a toll. I am more emotionally weary and brain dead then physically worn out but I am tired. Running has kept me sane through the past year but the past several weeks have been intense living. So I called my friend and we are meeting on her lunch hour from work to go for a run. Keeps me honest and forces me to get out there when I just don't care to bother. She never runs on her lunch break. She is truly a good friend. I then work till 7 tonight and my mom has my cousins in town tonight (again) which means I'll need to go help out after work so an evening run wasn't happening. I think I will be falling into bed again tonight but at least it will be post run!
Re: Hello Thursday!
A short 5 mile easy run. The very fastest end of my prescribed easy pace now feels quite easy. So that makes me happy.

Re: Hello Thursday!
Good morning! Had a nice 10 km run at Runpub last night, then this morning was non-cardio. A 30 minute core class that a gym buddy talked me into, followed by some hip stretching and upper body weights. I noticed during last night's run that my right hip was back to feeling stiff so it needs a little extra TLC. I am planning to run tomorrow morning and hope that it feels more normal. Busy day here so that's it from me

After another craptastic sleep last night I will attempt 12k today. It is 1.5k repeats @5:15 pace, should hurt. If I do not report back it is because I passed out somewhere.LOL

Enjoyed my rest day yesterday and not itching to run 10km planned for lunch in the sunshine. This evening settling in to watch college football. Since seeing the Stanford vs. USC in person I am hooked!
Have a great day

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

What a great day! Started out with a 6.69K run, then went to physio... where I got my marching orders. I am supposed to embrace "slow, steady and in-tune with the body" during my runs. Guess we'll see how the implementation goes over the coming months

Re: Hello Thursday!
Going to be away this weekend (off to Michigan for my best friend's 40th!), so used my day off to get my last long run before tapering for the Scotia half. 20km in 2:23:xx, which sets a new personal record for time spent running (a couple of minutes longer than my half time from the spring), as well as making September my highest-mileage month to date.
Now, to see if I can get a car stereo installed before I have to pick up DS from daycare - ours was stolen a couple of months ago and a four-hour drive is just too long to go without music.

Re: Hello Thursday!
So my friend got stuck at work ... on to plan B. I put Miss Hannah on lead, vibrams on feet. and left the garmin at home for a nice easy lunch time run around the neighbourhood. Not exactly what 'the plan' called for but it got me out the door! Felt really slow as my lower legs are still sluggish from the half on the weekend. It is really just my ankles that are still stiff, the rest is good, but ankles are kind of critical to running Got home and looked at the clock and figure I wasn't as slow as I thought. Nice day out there. NOw for a quick lunch and on to the second half of the day (followed by the third half ... wait days don't have third halfs ... or do they???)

Re: Hello Thursday!
A sweaty 8k around the 'hood today. Had Indian curry for our company lunch so I was still full from that during the run but got it done.

Re: Hello Thursday!
6.5 km in 38 minutes, the run felt quite tough especially since we missed all the lights so had a continuous run for a change. I was glad to see the pace was a bit faster than usual - it felt it but every time I looked at my watch it was showing 6:30 min per km ++
