Taper madness is here too, I think I have a cold coming up (but I always think that) and I think my knee, feet and hip are hurting which might be mental. Oh well, easy 30 mins tonight and we're leaving for CHICAGO tomorrow!!!

Yasso 800's today. First time I've done these. A rather strange workout. Lacking a track this time of year I ended up on the treadmill. Can't say as this is an interesting way to run on a tm but is anything interesting on a tm  The last 800 was a bit of a challenge but otherwise not too bad.

Family arrives today through Tuesday for Thanksgiving and the funeral. Not sure how much running I'll get in but I'm going to try. My long run is scheduled for Saturday and so is rain :( If it rains I may boycott till Sunday! :D

What great running weather in the GTA this morning - cloudy and a temperature that was perfect for what I was wearing. 11 km done, starting slow and finishing at tempo pace. I love starting in the dark and finishing in the light, and this time of year I especially like running where the trees are changing colour. Even in the half light they look beautiful.

Safe travel wishes to all those headed to Chicago and other places :)

Into the taper for this weekend's half marathon. I was convinced that my patellar tendon was causing problems this morning (Ack!) but went for a brisk walk and it seems better. Just me being neurotic, I suppose!

I'm usually the one who is fanatical about not wearing shoes in the house, but since the plantar issues in the past week, I'm walking around the house in running shoes all the time now. Foot doesn't hurt, so it must be helping (or it's a great placebo effect! I'll still take it!)

Flying out to PDX tomorrow morning at 6am. So happy to have this half, and this vacation!

7 miles outside today! I had the doctor remove the big toenail from my left foot yesterday. It was about 80% off and I figured better now then before the marathon, and it was bothering me. Hurt like crazy last night when the freezing wore off but after a couple of really old tylenol 3's I found in medicine cabinet it's feeling great today. Only hurt a tiny bit towards the end of this run.

The doctor was funny, he says "I love you marathoners....crazy"
