Steamy Monday

Postby erinmcd » Mon Oct 15, 2012 6:55 am

Who would have guessed after a few freezing mornings last week that it would be shorts & t-shirt weather this morning- 18 & humid!

Easy 11.5K this morning.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Spin class this morning for me. Nice to change things up a bit, plus it was a little rainy this morning so I wimped out a run in the dark and rain. Is it Friday yet.....

I've got nothing! But the legs are suprisingly pretty good this morning! The subway stairs didn't even feel too bad.

5 km and change taking the car to/from getting a windshield chip repaired...which became a new windshield. Ugh! not the way I wanted to start my day off, but such is life.

After a great week, this is a rest day for me. Good thing, too, because I have a very busy day at work and home.

Rest day for me. And very busy day at work - quarter-end madness in full swing.

Hope recovery is going well for all the people who raced yesterday!

taper started for me with and 'easy' hill workout  By the time I headed out wind gusts were over 70kph. They basically knocked me off my feet so I gave up after only a few blocks when I realized I could not find a way to get out of the wind enough. If the winds die down at sunset I'll run it tonight or if not, I'll run it early tomorrow morning (which was a rest day). Basically a short, slow, easy hill run ... if there is such a thing LOL. Back to PT to have my shoulder checked as well as my hip which continues to give me some grief. It was ok till km 28 yesterday but still ... sigh. Both PT and MT think it is piriformis linked to the shoes I ran in for part of my training (it started when i stopped running in VFF's and was running in more 'normal' shoes, slowly improving since switching back to VFF's). he gave me some new stretches, but says ART is the best to get at it and I bought some K tape to take to new York with me as it did help support my shoulder and I plan to use it for the run. I bought ORANGE :D Now working on a contract so back to work for me!

lovely fall day in Calgary today. I started running up along the bow river pathway, and it was so nice out that I just kept going. but I didn't have water with me... so I ended up going all the way to downtown so I could buy water and gatorade. Ended downtown with 12 miles, took the train back to Anderson, and then didn't feel like waiting for the bus (which takes forever) so I just ran home, for another 2.7 miles. 14.7 miles total. :)

also, I felt like everyone in downtown calgary was staring at me after my run... didn't realize why until I got home: face and neck completely covered in salt.

My first boot camp class today. It was fun. I know my arms and abs will be sore tomorrow and my back was sore this evening, I think I might have done something to it. :( icing as I type.
