Last 'long' run before NY - 16K. Got it in before the rain set in here which was nice. Strange to be out in capri's and a t shirt at the end of October but it was 13C when I started. Overall a tough run. I went out in the country and along the water so lots of hills. Legs felt heavy, hips tight, just felt off the whole run. Taper tantrums for sure! My last run before every half I've done has been pretty lousy so I figure this is just the same, why worry!

My garmin did an update this week and when I turned it on before my run it was wonky. I didn't recognize the page it defaulted to (virtual partner) and my custom page had disappeared. Turned out all my settings had disappeared. I had to re set everything before I could go just like when I first got it. Then after I started I realized it was not doing km laps it was doing mile laps and the alert sounds are now all different too. I left it on mile laps. Figure it will be good for NY. It still gave my pace in km, everything in km, just beeped each lap at the mile instead of the km. It was strange to see laps that slow  but interesting to get my head around halfway done at 5 (out of 10 miles) instead of not quite a third of the way done at 5K (Out of 16K). When I got home and downloaded the data I have mile lap data and km lap data too which is nice. interesting update to the garmin ...

Rest day but we were out the door very early for soccer in the pouring rain. DD's team won and DS's team have won their first of two matches.

8 degrees and drizzling here, I hate November (esp when it arrives in October).
Short, easy run done, aprox 6.5 km.

Fingers crossed that it will be dry tomorrow at least until Noon or so. I would prefer not to run the Seawall in the rain.

5 Peaks Albion Hills Championship final today. Pouring rain, lots of mud and lots of fun. Managed to qualify for the elite field based on a previous top 8 AG finish so was running with some fasties. Nice to see Sandra again (who finished 3rd for the season woo hoo).

No rain here just a bit dark. I went our for my long run and had a very slow pace so only ran 30 mins. My legs are sore from yesterday's tae-box class. Back at it tomorrow!!

12k outside. A bit slippery in places, and managed not to wipe out. Steve managed to wipe out before he even left our street, poor guy. :( He's ok though....

Very wet, cold, and muddy at the Horror Hill trail races today!! Friends from the Waterloo RR were out in the elements with me. Mike and I did the 3 hour one and Deb and Dave signed up for the 6 hour. Deb, suffering from some knee problems opted out early due to the very slippery footing. When Mike and I left, Dave was forging on and said that he was doing okay. Dave and Deb also did the Runner's World Hat-Trick last weekend. Thus I felt that I was in good company.

Rain, rain, go away... Unfortunately that's not going to happen any time during the next few days.

Congrats to all the racers today!

Spent most of the day organizing cupboards and drawers, and now have two more boxes of stuff for Goodwill - yes! Then went to the gym for a non-running workout, to make up the one I missed on Thursday. Because I had more time than usual, did 50 moderate minutes on the elliptical, then upper body weights, and abs/hips/glutes strength and stretching.

Last pre-NYC long run on the schedule for tomorrow, 16 km. Not feeling nearly as tough or motivated as a bunch of posters here today, and I'll probably end up doing it on the TM. And no idea when it will happen. Two reasons: 1) we didn't have dinner until about 8:00 p.m. and there is no way I can run early in the morning after that, and 2) tomorrow is the last pre-marathon day when it will be possible to get some extra sleep. So I'm taking advantage of it!
