SNOWY Sunday!!!

Postby QuickChick » Sun Nov 04, 2012 7:34 am

It's snowing here in upstate NY. Ugh!!! It is way too early for this! I did a ton of Christmas shopping yesterday too... Dare I say it already feels like the holiday season??!!! Or maybe I was just bombarded with too many seasonal decorations, songs and TV commercials here. If they start early at home, it's extra early in the US it seems.
Anyway. I'm heading out for 18km on a super hilly but beautiful route! Then homeward bound... Before I start humming Christmas songs!!!

I love shopping in the US, though I should support the Canadian economy.

Hoping for good results for the Angus Glen people and anyone else running today.I still have bits of my pneumonia floating in my system so I gave up my bib.
Chilly and crisp here in TO. Glad that I finally cleared up the backyard of lawn furniture yesterday!!
Have a great day everyone.
Cheers,
Jill

Ongoing plan :To start running, continue with eating habits, positive outlook.

Leisurely but cold 10km this morning, getting back into the swing of things after a couple of light weeks. DS did the kids' run at Angus Glen yesterday - it's billed as a 1k, but let me tell you, there was no way that was a kilometer! He had a great time, though, and seeing what a nice setup they have there, I'll definitely be considering the half there in future.

Technically a rest day, but they all seem to be lately. However, I have my walking shoes on and will likely put in quite a few miles when I get to DC.

The run club did an event this morning whereby we ran 10K without watches and tried to predict our times. I tried for marathon pace, but between some hills on the course, uneven efforts of the runners near me, and non-tapered legs, I ended up a minute fast. 7K cooldown.

Yep... brrrr...

Did 3K on my own, and then led to 10K clinic for 8K. Nice route this morning. It was slow, because I stayed with a girl that was have a bit of breathing difficulty, so no way could I leave her on her own. She still managed to go further than she ever has before though!

Today is day 2 of mom/daughter weekend with my daughter. Yesterday was shopping and dinner out and today will be a movie and maybe more shopping.... :D

SNOWY Sunday!!!

Heading out shortly for an 8-10k run with my Bonsor peeps. I'm hoping the rain holds off but when it's 95% humidity does it really matter whether it's raining or not ?? Damp run coming up.

First run outside since Melissas and first try since getting my iron back to normal. It poured rain last night and then froze, so I just did 20 minutes very carefully. Felt great! Fingers crossed that I can keep improving. :)

It was pretty cold and drizzly when I got up this morning, but my mother had volunteered to watch C, so I didn't want to pass up the opportunity for a long run. About a km into my run, I ran into a friend along the canal, and ended up having a fabulous speedy run with great company. 13.5 km done.

Got up unexpectedly early due to end of Daylight Savings Time. Easy 10km done. -1C and overcast, but no snow -- yet. Just puttering around until it's time to take older daughter to airport. She's leaving for England for 4 weeks. Excited for her but also scared &anxious.
Plan for 2016:

9 km done in 58 min (or so), no rain (per se) but the "lovely" mist just hung there and waited for us to run through it :violin: Damp run indeed.

I came across this website before I went out for my run http://www.run4nyc.com/

I decided to do a half-marathon. Since my wife is due to give birth any day now I chose two loops close to home for my route and I made sure to have my phone with me in case I needed to head home quickly. I ended up doing a half in 1:35. It was my longest run since Toronto Waterfront a few weeks ago.

May - Sporting Life 10 km - 41:10
May - Ottawa Marathon - 3:26:37

I did the half today! I did the 10k there a couple of years ago and really enjoy this race. So small scale compared to the Scotiabank half which is a nice change. Good lunch afterward, nice goodie bag, and you can stay warm in the club house before the race (and it was chilly today!). As for the race today, I felt much better than I did at the Scotiabank half. That one I made the mistake of going out waaaaay too fast and got tired at about 10k. Learning the art of pacing :)
