Had a bit of a sleep in this morning- the kids slept over at Grandma & Grandpa's, so there was nobody to wake us up. It was lovely!

I'll head out for some trails at some point today.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

I talked to the local running guru, and he says:
16k today
5k tomorrow
10k Tuesday
8k Thursday
Then nothing til Philly three days later.

So...16k today!

9K through the park, probably faster than necessary on account of all the schoolkids around me doing speedwork for XC.

14 K on the easy rolling trails in Forks of the Credit Provincial Park, with the family. Tonight we're off to The City to see iconic songwriter Jimmy Webb.

Did about 6.5 km to go run by friend's place - they're tearing down their house. It was quite the sight to see! Came back, and realized DH and C had walked to the grocery store and I was locked out! So I a loop of the big block, practicing landing more on my mid-foot. I'm thinking about weaning myself off my ridiculous heel strike. Little over 8 km done. Beautiful day in Ottawa!

Decided to go out and explore and ended up running 1 hr 45 mins. Beautiful fall weather, warm wind blowing off Lake Ontario. Amazing to still be running in shorts and a tshirt in November. Tomorrow is supposed to be even warmer so am planning a 4 hr bike ride into Toronto, to the Leslie Spit and back. Then raking stupid leaves all afternoon. Blah... lol

Absolutely gorgeous day out there, did 9ish km with wicked hill near the end. I stuck with just coffee and snacks but since we ended up at the mall, one gal got a start on her Christmas shopping

Easy 30 minutes of running yesterday. 80 minutes walking on snowy sidewalks with wife today. 10 cm snow so far with no end in sight in forecast. Tomorrow's planned long run should be fun :)

14km run on the county roads here in north Texas. Most of the drivers will give you space when they go by. Once and awhile you will get some idiot who thinks they own the roads. That is when my middle finger comes in handy. I guess I am lucky, I haven't been shot at yet. :)

Well, a 7k run got done, but not the Swiss chard! That will have to be tomorrow.

sunny today but with a crisp breeze. lovely day for a run. I did approx 7 miles (5 trails, 2 road). Was going to finish it out for 9 but wasn't feeling 100% so I took the bus for that last 2 miles of pavement. :P Now warming up with soup and toast! :)

Rest day.

Spent the morning at a fundraiser fun run/walk for a local runner who suffered an A.V.M. (more or less a brain hemmorage) as she was en route to run the Nike HalfM in SF a month ago.
I had the pleasure of being Dylan Wykes' "handler" for the morning  . It was a lot of fun to see how excited so many of the kids (and their parents too!) were at meeting our local Olympian. I was very impressed with Dylan...I know he's a nice guy...but this morning he really demonstrated what a great ambassador to his and our sport he is. He stood around in pretty chilly weather for 4 hours (yes...I made him wear his Olympic Team jacket...which is light weight and not one that he could put a lot of warmer stuff under as it's relatively form fitting) and kept on smiling, being cheerful and spending a lot of time with the kids. Go Dylan! Dylan is actually injured now (pelvic stress fracture...likely happened at London) so he could use any of the Orange vibes anyone wants to send!
