Taco Tuesdays

Postby barebuns1 » Tue Nov 20, 2012 7:26 am

I am having a MacDonalds coffee with my free Wifi before I had to the gym for my workout. I am taking our boxer out for a run later today. :)

Will be running at lunch -- was supposed to also swim tonight, but I have to bring one of my dogs to the vet (I discovered a growth on his gumline -- fingers crossed here).... so depending what time I get out of there, I might try to swim in Orleans as I know I'll be too late for coach swimming.....

Easy 5 km this morning. Felt like I hit good winter running groove, although HR wee bit higher than wanted. Streets mostly clear: no ice &little snow, which was bonus. :-)

I have the makings of a cold coming on so I am going to try a loop around the lake with the dog and if it feels ok I will do a second one if not I will go home and curl up under the quilt and sleep until it is time to pick the kids up. I have an extra two kids coming over after school and two soccer practices tonight.

Brought my running gear to work today but not sure if I will get out. I am going to keep my eye on the windchill and the threat of freezing rain. I have worked out hard the last 5 days so a rest day would not do me any harm :)

Have a great day!

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

Did Crossit yesterday and as best as I can tell, my trainer decided to make everything hurt as much as possible today

Hot Yoga tonight, hopefully will loosen some of this up.

First run in almost a week - intended on 5 or 6k but pulled the plug at 4. Just no energy in the legs at all - not sure if it's due to having bashed my knee really hard on the weekend (table leg where I did not expect one to be), or just one of those random things.
PR's so far: 5K 27:15, 10K 55:25, 21.1K 2:10:53, 42.2K 5:21:27

Gave my tired calves a break from running today - instead did the 30 Day shred DVD. Just not the same as a good run though!

What great running weather the GTA has been having the last few days! Recap, since I haven't posted lately: just over 11 km on Saturday when Carla and Marg were in town, 21 km on Sunday, and 13 km this morning. I realised this morning how much my perception of the temperature has changed over the years. 4 C used to be "cold" and now it's "really nice"!

Congrats to the weekend racers, hope the recovery is going well.

Fingers crossed here that it's nothing serious.

A successful post-race run. It is nice out today so I went to the track instead of the treadmill. 7k and no pain. :)

Decided on a rest day, -25C windchill is cold! I actually don't mind running in very cold weather, but the wind I cannot do.

Went shopping instead and bought a dress :)

Dinner this evening at Pampa. Back at 'er tomorrow!

Taco Tuesdays

Postby marymac442 » Tue Nov 20, 2012 4:24 pm

What I thought was my sinuses acting up from my swim this morning appears to be a full blown cold but I've jammed out on running the past two Tuesdays and a friend is in town and wants to run with us tonight so I guess I will have to resort to drugs and get out there and get it done.
