Last year's deal was actually $40 early registration, $50 gift card. Still, this is a great offer!

For anyone who has run both, would you prefer the SL10K or the Yonge Street 10K (CRS) ? reasons, etc..
I'm leaning toward the CRS one because it is earlier in the year and seems smaller(ish).

They really are the same race. I did them both last year, and am doing them both again this year. If you can, why not do both, one is "free" anyway.
After last year's race, some guy started chirping me about his (marginally) better time, even though I had about 60lbs on him and I had run Mississauga the week before. So this year, I'm using YS10k as a gauge to see if I should up the ante at SL10k. I've dropped about 10lbs already, working on dropping some more.
Anyone want to pace me? He came in at 50:30 last year, I've been making other big improvements and should be safe if I can shave a minute or two off of that - 48-49min - any takers?

SL10K. Aside from the value, to me it feels good to support the original races on courses (SL, Toronto Marathon) instead of the new similar CRS races that have pushed these races off courses, off dates, etc.
Just my $0.02.

SL10K - I like the cause.
They did a really great organizational job too, which kind of suprised me considering the increased size of the field.

The races are identical. The new SL10K just replicated the same format that CRS had been using. I suppose there could be differences in terms of how each group executes on the race, which I can't comment on because I didn't run either race last year. For most people, it's really just a matter of personal preference around the date and/or the organizers or charity.
This year, the April date works better for me as I will be out of town that weekend in May. Not sure if I'm going to run, though (depends on how my training for cycling in France and the Ottawa 1/2 are going).

Two of the same race a month apart seems a bit repetitious. I think I'll sign up for the YS10K since the timing is right and I'm probably going to sign up for the Mississauga Half again so this would a well timed race to use as a measurement of readiness (or lack thereof).

Yes, I am so cheap I can't pass up a value.
Toronto then Sporting Life worked OK last year once I got past the feeling early in the 10K that my quads were going to somehow fold in half...

Re: May 12, 2013-Sporting Life 10K--promo gift card again!
I'm registered for the 3rd time and finally convinced my husband to register too!
Problems with the promo cards though - he never did receive an email with a link to his card, and I am having trouble redeeming it for an online purchase. Neither the PIN nor the bar code work.
Has anyone redeemed the coupon online?

I have received a card or link or anything for the credit with my early January registration. In what format did it come to everyone else?
Thanks!

My husband had to email for his card and received it within a week. It was in an email with a link to a printable card with a PIN. I just received an update email from race organizers and they say those having trouble with cards should email: registration@sl10k.ca.
