Thursday thread is HERE ab____

Postby Strider » Thu Dec 13, 2012 7:46 am

Morning,

Good time to be taking a step back week and going on vacation. Tired this morning, and have had a couple of restless night’s sleep. Slow out the door .... Workout was 8x2min with 90sec recoveries. The first interval was a tad slow and then locked in the pace for the remaining 7 - they were tough, but fair, still was nice to be done. 12.75km in 1:04 in the end. Just 2 more sleeps till beach time.

30 min Elliptical at lunch to workout the legs.

The beach... I wish!!

Tae-boxe class tonight. I'm trying it for free at a place near my house where my prof teaches! I think I will register for the winter season there if I like it :D Still sore from Tuesday's class though...

Good Morning!

10k on the TM with lots of button pushing. Mostly elevation, but a few changes in pace there too.

Then:

100 crunches on the stability bal
50 bicycles
2 min straight arm plank - OUCH
40 squats -after the past few day's conversation about form, I was really concentrating on it.
50 pushups

Lots of stretching.

5K on the treadmill last night. Taking a rest day today and doing my long run in the morning. I took tomorrow off so going to take advantage of the outdoors and opportunity to get long run in.

Still not back to running. Gave myself a couple of weeks off after Philly, and then a nasty bug got me. Hopefully I'll be back at it soon.....
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

The beach sounds fantastic, enjoy the sun and cocktails. After the bit of rest you get look out !!!

12k in 1:05 today...was really sluggish for the first 6k, I guess I shouldn't have Sushi and beer on a Wednesday night. The weather was much much better than Tuesdays freeze fest, and there's a little bit of sun poking through.

Funny about the ab___ I woke up yesterday thinking it was Tuesday, woke up today thinking it was Friday.

14 cold and sluggish km done this morning in -15C. But on a happy note... I seem to have found the MAGIC MITTENS that keep my freakishly cold hands warm! I can't wear them unless it is colder than -10C because they're that warm!

Good afternoon! I've been absent from here for a while since I was literally absent - went out to BC to visit my family and take a short trip with them, and was barely in the vicinity of a computer. I could post from my Blackberry but it's a pain. Anyway, the family time and travel time meant less workout time. I ran a whole 10 miles on the TM on Sunday and then went out and ran 12 km yesterday afternoon, and that was it since the prior Wednesday. A little bit of walking around and some intermittent ab and hip/glute exercises, but nothing major. Today was the return to a normal routine, which ended up being 20 minutes on the elliptical followed by upper body weights and lower body stretch/strength. Between the time change and the return to work, it was NOT easy to get this morning! But at least it's a very short week.

Nice to be back to the familiar "faces" :)

Thanks, it was! We are spending Christmas with Ed's family, so when that happens, I usually go visit mine late November/early December. Not quite Christmas but it's always good to see them.
