Last day of the year!

Postby erinmcd » Mon Dec 31, 2012 9:05 am

Visiting the in-laws in the Endless Mountains region of PA. Great place to run- just did an hour on very hilly snow covered roads.
Happy New Year to all!
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Last day of the year!

Postby abhainn » Mon Dec 31, 2012 9:10 am

First walk/ run in a really long time. Re-re-re-starting. Went better than I had expected considering I'm still a bit sick and haven't done any real cardio in a month, but was marginally worse than I had hoped. Good way to close out the year of heaven and hell. Too bad I still have to go to work :|

Happy New Year!

16K on the TM this morning. I kind of was not in the mood to fight the slippery sidewalks today! Besides - had the Junior Hockey game going!

I went out for my first run in a week yesterday, and just felt so tired! I'm supposed to do the Midnight 5k in Toronto tonight. Is anyone else doing it?

No running for me today. I was up all night with all over muscle aches. I hope it is not the current plague that is going around.

Final day of the Holiday Squats Challenge: 100 squats done (4x25). Then I went for a walk to the pet store and liquor store (about 3K round trip).

Lovely 80 minute walk with my wife. -21C/-26WC, so we bundled up plenty. OTOH, gorgeous clear blue sky and light dusting of fresh snow made everything bright &white &cheery. Happy New Year, all :-)

Just got home from my final workout of the year. An hour bootcamp that was fantastic. Tomorrow I will be sore! Later will be a doggie walk and some food and drinks with friends :)

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

20 km with friends for our annual new-years-eve-day run. Footing was iffy, but company was great. Followed that up with a quick 40 minute ski with DH. Thinking about a nap now!

10K on the treadmill for me. I would have loved to have been outdoors today as it warmed up quite a bit, but I also had babysitting duty. That said, anytime I can slog through 10K on the treadmill in my sauna like basement storage area is a good day

Have a safe New Years!

Finished off the year with 6 x 800 intervals. Good workout. 11k total while the snow was falling along the trail.
