Snowy Saturday

Hitting the TM again today for a short one. I don't like getting bundled up for such a short run. It'd take longer to get gear on than it would to actually run.

Have a great day!

Nice run this morning with a couple of lovely ladies! Hit the trails at our local conservation area with my wife and another girl from the Brighton Running Club.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

I went out this morning for a run and turned back around. Between the fresh snow and my rather slick Saucony's, it just wasn't going to happen. I resigned myself to the treadmill and actually had a pretty nice 10K. It's not too often I use "nice" and "treadmill" in the same sentence so it actually turned out being a good morning!

8K "Goldilocks run" in the snow:

- just enough snow to make it feel like new shoes but not too much to change my stride

- warm enough to be comfy but not so warm that anything was slushy

- long enough to get me some fresh air but not so long that it will affect tomorrow's long run

25K in pretty pleasant conditions today!

I can really feel the change in my fitness though. A drop in speedwork and mileage has really made the long runs harder. I expected this though, once I began working with the clinic. I'm enjoying it, so it's worth it!

ATB could be interesting though. :?

I'm so happy! I found 24 bottles of Granville Island Lion's winter Ale!

And I got a massage (finally!)

And I ran one of my annual runs - more of a baseline check - and I really wasn't trying and I was still 2min faster than last year.

Having a great morning :)

and Hockey's back tonight!

I love that 'heading out for a 42k run".... awesome.

I ran 25K today, in beautiful weather. 5 celcius, dry and only a slight headwind when going south/east.

Lisa - -I haven't done more than 20 km yet so you're ahead of the game for ATB! Still lots and lots of time.

Too much snow today to go out with the stroller and DH was coaching, so instead I did a quick XC ski during nap time. Beautiful day out there!

-18C with nasty gusty wind making it feel like -30. Shovelled for 30 minutes or so. Then inside for 4 miles or so on treadmill. I say "or so" because I had to stop midway to help D#2 move furniture so she can paint her bedroom, and the treadmill counter reset on me.
Plan for 2016:

Jul 16: Morden Triathlon - Sprint - done

I did a lovely 16.75km on some trails with some friends this morning. We started at 8a.m., when things were quite chilly by Vancouver standards. Lots of crispy/crunchy ground to run over... no puddles of water, only ice. It was crisp, sunny, and clear. Then we had tea and by the time I got home, fog had rolled in blocking all views.

This week's been a bit lame as far as exercise goes, as I was sick so ran a short one on Tuesday evening, skipped ultimate on Wednesday, just went for a 30 minute "brisk" walk on Thursday, and did nothing yesterday. It's OK, though. I'll be back next week. And tomorrow is snowshoeing on the Sunshine Coast. :)

11.5 k out on the Leslie St. Spit this morning.
Windy on the way out, lovely on the way back, and the footing was fine.
It seemed like I had the whole place to myself... :D :D :D

A touch under 31k on those snowy roads. That distance wasn't my intent, but seeing the freezer we're about to hop into I wanted to get a long run in before its too cold for that time.

I found today slow and I was quite sore from 24-31k. Not sure if it was the footing, or just tired this week. Oh well it's done, now preparing for dinner guests.

Good 11 km run in about 70 minutes, it was major foggy and there were patches of really slippery sidewalk but overall it felt great.
