Time Trial Saturday

Postby erinmcd » Sat Mar 02, 2013 9:56 am

Our local club is doing a March Mile Challenge, and today was my first crack at it- 5:45, 15 seconds off my prediction. I think I'll hit 5:30 by the end of the month though.

After that a couple of us ran up to the conservation area for some trials- did a total of 16K this morning.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Boo! I hope you get some relief and can get out soon.

Heading out shortly for a run, about an hour. Distance depends on how icy it is :)

Time Trial Saturday

Postby Jwolf » Sat Mar 02, 2013 12:11 pm

Nice race, Erin!

I went to the track today near my house for an easy run. Sometimes I like to run there just to get a break from the pavement- and I love that track! I ran under light drizzle with seagulls on the infield. I shared the track with about 12 other people, all walkers, about half with umbrellas. I love Vancouver. :)

Just over 6k in 40 min.

1:26 spin done. 50 minutes before class started, then 35 minutes of (the 50-min) class. Went to the bike show and drooled over all the pretty bikes. :)

I am envious of those who can put 20-30K. I am stuck back at about 14-16 and still running on empty after that,
Oh well, its a long road back (literally)

A nice mostly dry 10km run this morning (other than having to ford a lake accross the path at Trout Lake).

Our Dragon Boat practice started out nice for the first half hour, then we ended up paddling in a typhoon for the last half hour or so  I am really not loving the weather the past few days - bring on the sunshine!

It has stopped! It has stopped!

It hadn't though, when I went out for 2.5 hours on the very, very wet and muddy trails this morning. Various ankle-deep puddles. Running uphill was sometimes running upriver. And at one point, the trail was so flooded my friend's dog went for a little swim before we turned back to find another route. And she's a Chinook! Not a little dog!

Not sure about our distance. Somewhere around 15km, I think. My Garmin went crazy and my friend hasn't told me yet what hers said. We ended up walking most of the last 45 minutes or so as she took a bit of a bad fall and was hurting. (Yes, for once, I was not the person falling, but no, I wasn't happy.)

I had a nice easy run this morning- very chilly but otherwise good. About 5.5km. Tonight I can hardly believe I'm going out to celebrate my good friend Stefan's 40th birthday!!! Wow where did the time go?!? You might remember Stefan from such pictures as "the one with Windy and the boat". Should be a good time!!

Hope you had a wonderful time! Just over 12km for me today. Ran over lots of ice, through puddles and mud...-and emergency stop at a bathroom :). Felt great, could have gone forever :)
