6.5K with the HM clinic last night.

This morning was 32 minutes on the elliptical at a pretty good pace and resistance. Also 12 minutes on the ERG machine, and some strength and stretching. This was all followed by the subway ride from hell.... UGHHH.

Good morning! Got out for a nice 12 km run this morning under cloudy skies. The air felt deceptively cool as I stepped out of the house, but once I started running, I could definitely feel the humidity. Had a pretty sluggish start but was able to average a sub-5:00 pace by the end so was happy with that. Not sure about Runpub tonight - I worked until 8:30 last night and could easily do the same today. Fingers crossed I don't.

Easy 8.5km run. For the next while runs will be easy as I re-learn technique and strength and mobility.

It's my double day. Just under 11km planned for lunch followed by an hour of weights/tabata this evening.

Have a great day!

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

Ran there and back, 2.5k each way. I don't love running with my backpack, but I DO love that I can get there on foot and combine it into my workout.

At the pool I did 1400m in 45 minutes including some drills and timed sets. Too bad the shower after the pool was totally negated by the run home. :)

Biked tonight. Biked before the group run and then opted to stay on the bike for some more mileage instead of trying to run. Total of 35K.

On the one hand, I only ran 2.2k today. On the other hand, I got to run it with Bean in his first ever race! He has two very proud parents right now.

He fell down and scraped his knee about 50m into the run, but he cried only for a minute then got up and kept going. Didn't want to be carried at all.

Superior 100

Muggy out. I felt mugged by the time I'd run my 8 km. But it ended at the pool, so all was good. My wife took the streetcar (starting at the same time and place), so I had to wait 15 minutes for her. And in fact she had only made it that soon by running half the distance – the streetcars were backed up ridiculously. But such a good swim! Followed by beer and pizza and peoplewatching on the boardwalk. Why does summer have to be so short?

Smog in Montréal, hard to not think about my job on my only week off this summer!! Oh well, I ran this morning 20 mins of 1:1 with my dog and it went well. I also did Tracy Anderson's DVD, starting from week 1. Hopefully the legs are fine. We'll see in a few days!

Open water swim clinic tonight - it was better than I expected. I have a sore throat but so far it hasn't messed up my breathing (too much). Getting better with sighting but with 10 of us swimming for the same small buoy I got some practice with avoiding feet and not panicking when getting swum over.
