For just an extra $10 per race, you get to use 5 water stations free of charge, and for every water station beyond the 5th, an extra minute will be added to your time.

Unless you maintain an average minimum pace of 6:00/km, in which case the use of all aid stations is free.

;)

if enough people drop out or DNF will they change to the Canadian Tire Centre NCM

I think it would be the Canadian Too Tired Centre.

Andy--I think they mentioned that in the press release.

PRESENTING THE SCOTIABANK OTTAWA MARATHON

Scotiabank signs on as the Ottawa Marathon, Ottawa Half-Marathon and charity program title sponsor

Ottawa, ON (January 29, 2014) –The organizers of the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend have struck a new partnership that will see Scotiabank become the new title sponsor for the weekend’s signature event, the Ottawa Marathon as well as its half-marathon and charity program.

Effective immediately, the IAAF silver-label Ottawa Marathon will be known as the Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon, the half-marathon will be known as the Scotiabank Ottawa Half-Marathon, and the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend charity program will become the Scotiabank Charity Program.

“We are ecstatic to have Scotiabank, one of Canada’s biggest supporters of the sport of running, sign on as a title sponsor for our two longest distances and charity program,” said John Halvorsen, President of Run Ottawa and the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend’s Race Director. “We couldn’t have hoped for a better way to celebrate the 40th running of the Ottawa Marathon! ”

Organizers are planning to use the newly secured funds to enhance runners’ experience as part of the overall 40th Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon celebrations.

“We are excited to become the title sponsor of the Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon as this great event celebrates its 40th running,Andy kept bugging us and so we finally listened ” said Frank Bilodeau, Scotiabank Vice-President of the Ottawa and West Quebec District. “This marathon weekend is a special showcase for the city of Ottawa, bringing together walkers, runners, spectators and neighbourhoods to celebrate running and give back to the community. We are looking forward to the Scotiabank Charity Program and we encourage the public to make their run this year even more meaningful by supporting one of our featured charities.”

Scotiabank is currently the title sponsor for five marathons across the country: the Scotiabank Vancouver Half-Marathon & 5k, the Scotiabank Calgary Marathon, the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, Banque Scotia 21k de Montréal et 5k and the Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon.

The 2014 Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend will take place May 24-25, 2014. The Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon, the Scotiabank Ottawa Half-Marathon and the Ottawa 10K have sold out. Runners can still register for the HTG Sports 5K, 2K and Kids Marathon at www.runottawa.ca.

Ottawa Race Weekend has just opened up the Bib Market process to buy/sell/transfer your bibs ....

Bib Market

Missed out on registering for the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend? Registered for an event but can no longer run? The Bib Market is for you. The Bib Market is an online marketplace where runners who can no longer participate in their race can offer their entry for sale. Registration is offered at the original price plus a $20 transaction fee and the process is managed by Run Ottawa. Read below for how to buy a race entry or offer up your entry for sale.

BIB MARKET

How to buy a bib:

1.If an event is listed, there is an entry available for purchase.
2.Click the event button and fill out the registration form.
3.Pay for the event. A $20 fee will be added to your registration to cover transaction costs.
4.You will receive an email confirming your registration.

How to sell a bib:

1.Locate your registration confirmation email.
2.Click the link at the bottom of the email that says “Modify your registration (your name).” You will be taken to your registration page.
3.At the bottom of the page, click the green button that says “Offer to Marketplace.”
4.Confirm that you want to offer your race entry to the marketplace.

Upon confirmation, your bib will become available for purchase. When a runner purchases your bib, your credit card will be refunded your entry fee, minus the original transaction fee and any amount you have donated to charity.

Note: There is no guarantee that your bib will be purchased.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but there was a sneak peek of the medals at the bay expo today. The 40th anniversary medal is huge! (Not Toronto Marathon huge, though)

Anyone in need of a 1/2 marathon bib? Thought I would offer it here before putting it up on the general bib market site.
