Multiple Marathon Sunday

Good luck to those running in The Big Apple and The Hammer.

I'll run for about 45 minutes later. Right now, just enjoying a lazy Sunday morning.

A nice easy 7K on a beautiful sunny and crisp morning here in Ottawa. I've started getting the "isn't it a little cold for shorts" banter from the other trail users, LOL :)

Watching NYC marathon ("Who won the wheelchair race? Yes). Getting ready to head out for my run in a bit, clear day and light already, nice change from yesterday.

I was listening to the announcers and it reminded me of the old "Who's on first" gag. (that's how they were pronouncing his name)

Beautiful sunshiny day, but it sure was hard to force myself out the door this morning at 8:00 a.m., knowing that the temp was still below freezing! Long tights and thicker gloves, a little sooner in the season than expected! Anyway, once I got warmed up it wasn't too bad and I did 22 km at close to race pace, as a way of sending virtual good vibes to all the Hamilton and NYC racers. :)

Followed the run with 2+ hours outside pulling dead stuff out of the garden, cleaning up leaves, etc. I did have some thoughts of baking this afternoon but I think reading the Sunday paper and doing laundry will be on the agenda instead.

Now sending good recovery vibes instead of good race vibes, although some NYC people are likely still running (if I'm correct about the 10:30 start time).

Slow 8K through the slushy mess, the weatherproof shoes worked well.

When I got up this morning I was pleasantly surprised by a crisp, sunny fall morning and a fresh dusting of snow on the mountains. Lovely day.

10 mile trail (mostly) run this morning. Still trying to get some consistency back. It's been tough given how much I've had on my plate, but I've started clearing some things off so I can focus on some of the things I've let slide over the past 6 months. :)

3:56:56. Yay! Would have been much better if I hadn't lost my legs and fallen about 50 meters from the finish :? My finish line photo will include three medics holding me up  No matter. Another BQ with a bit of a buffer. :D

First run in new shoes and they felt great during my 17K run. My other pairs in rotation have 650, 900, and 2 over 1,100K so I was due.

36-min run done (my lower GI was giving me some grief, so I had to stop and run the rest of the way (thank goodness for a public washroom at Loblaws nearby).

I also had a lovely long walk with a friend and the dog he was minding for the day.

Hilly 11km run this morning. So nice with the sun and no wind (well, minimal). Love these temps for running

Amazing day in NYC! Ran with my mother (who is one tough granny!), and she said she wanted 5 hours. 5:00:15! She's totally thrilled. She said that even with hindsight, there was NO WAY she could have run 15 seconds faster! NY is one heck of an experience, and I'm very happy I finally got to do it.

Congrats, Lisa!
