Snowy Saturday

Postby Habs4ever » Sat Dec 28, 2013 9:12 am

A nice blanket of snow over the never ending ice will make it treacherous out there today. A run will happen later, distance TBA.

Have a great day Maniacs.

I'm about to head out for 5k myself. Trying to decide which route to take - lakeside or waterfront.

20k. I managed to find some residential streets that were very runnable. The cemetery was bare pavement! Most sidewalks are still terrible though. Ice and fallen branches. I also saw quite a number of downed power lines. My area was very badly hit.

A very enjoyable 11k on the treadmill again. :) Usually I love to explore new areas when I'm away, but indoors is a much better choice than running on unfamiliar roads this week.

Going to head to the pool shortly for a swim and soak in the hot tub. Other than that plan on relaxing the day away :)

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

I went with the lake route. I ran a little over 5k in 35 minutes. It's definitely harder to run with messy sidewalks! But I admit that I like the lack of pressure about pace.

Today's workout: Shovel snow for an hour, wade in ankle deep soft snow 2 miles to Yoga for a brutal hot Ashtanga class, wade home another 2 miles, reshovel all of the snow around the house that blew back in. I knew something was up when I woke up early this morning and the sky was an eerie orange colour!

Got out on the trails today with a couple of guys- it was a tiring run. Ended up just over 12km, but it took almost 1:30 with the challenging conditions. Trails were very slippery, and every few steps you'd break though the top crust. Had a few massive wipeouts too. Wouldn't change a thing though- it was a blast!
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Headed out at 6:00 a.m. for a 15 km run with friends -- was a little early for my liking, but then it was nice to be done so early and have the rest of the day to myself!

Had a nice 21k run today. Lots of people out there running or walking and enjoying the scenery.
