Wednesday Woes

Postby RA. » Wed Feb 19, 2014 8:30 am

Woken by the snow plows in the lots near my condo, I decided to get to the gym before work. Body Shred class done, and then 15 minutes of walking on the treadmill.

Today was my first day of running since last Thursday- I've been down & out with a nasty cold, but since I started to feel a lot better yesterday evening I decided to go out for an easy 10k this morning.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

I have physio this afternoon. I will run when I get home (only going to the pub part of runpub since my mum is in town).

DH is working at home today, so rather than go to the gym, we both did upper body weights and core work at home this morning. I have plans to run after work but that largely depends on work. Last night I managed to get out just in time to make it to belly dance class. Glad I got there, because it was a super high energy and fun workout. :)

A thin layer of fresh snow following two days of gentle melting made for treacherous footing. Very cautious 14K done.

7K with the clinic last night, and 11 on the TM while I was watching curling. All felt pretty good! :D

9k in a 'gentle Irish mist' - but it sure beats slogging through the snow.

I did a tough hour spin class at lunch. Heading to the gym after work for a cardio/weight class.

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

I feel like I might be fighting off a cold. I've decided to take a new approach on it: run shorter distances every day rather than longer less often. Keep the immune up and feeling fit without overtaxing. So another 2 miles on the treadmill.
Marathons: 1; 30k: 2; Half marathons: 6; Shorter: Um, I've lost track
PBs: Half-marathon: 1:35:32; 5K: 19:54 (both 2012)

5 miles outside tonight. A little slippy for my taste.

Two days off because of a literal pain in the rear  . 30 min on the bike and 20 min of aggressive piriformis stretching tonight, and I will hopefully be back at it tomorrow.

I had a really sucky run today, on snow-over-brown slush-over-ice, with wind-blown snow in my face most of the way. At least I got out there.

I had a lovely evening run with Popeye, it was so mild, I felt like I could go on forever. We did 45 mins.
