Tempo Thursday

Postby erinmcd » Thu Feb 27, 2014 8:13 am

Good morning all!

Another snowy run this morning- it was coming down pretty hard when I headed out, but slowed down as I went. 17km with 13km at as close to marathon pace as I could get on unplowed roads.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Woke up to snow here! 25 minutes on the dreadmill this morning. Turns out last night's pizza and garlic fingers weren't a good idea.

Last night was 6.5K with hill repeats for the clinic. Cold, but it felt good!

This morning - no appetite for putting on the layers, so it was 12K at a peppy pace on the TM.

Have a good one!

I have a meeting after work so no run tonight unless I get home early enough to hit the treadmill. (I probably will have time after the meeting but I suspect I will be short on energy)

No run outdoor today (wind is too freakin' cold), so I went for an indoor skate instead.
One hour hard and I worked up a bit of a sweat, not to mention using muscle combinations that haven't been used in quite a while.
That counts as cross-training, right ?

I had an hour with my personal trainer at lunch. Today was chest and abs. Tonight I have 75 mins of spin on tap.

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

Never mind Tempo Thursday! It was "Freeze your Butt" Thursday here. Cold, windy, snowy and slippery. Pretty much covered all the negative aspects of winter running.
Ended up with a 30 minute walk, 2 hour run, 30 minute walk this morning. I spent the afternoon warming up and recovering!!

Body was not willing to run on the TM today so I opted for 45 minutes on the rowing machine. Stress test on a TM tomorrow, so the body had better be ready to run when I get there!

No running today, lining up some albums to listen to on my daily walks at work. Yes I still call them albums and I listen to the songs in the order the are recorded. :)

roughly 5.5 miles (though garmin died near the beginning so that's an estimate). First run in two weeks. It made my head and throat and neck hurt more than before. Toward the end I felt like my sinuses might be loosening up but now they're all blocked again so I guess the run didn't help me. :/

Surprise, surprise - run didn't happen. Have been exhausted due to work stress - more exercise would reduce stress but too tired to do it - that lovely catch-22.
