I'm pretty sure Al and I will be there. I'll likely participate in the 5K but trying to encourage him to think about the half again. We'll see! I haven't missed the chance to participate yet :D

I want to but it is a week after my wedding so not sure the timing is great. Will spend a few days thinking about it.

fyi ... Army Run usually SELLS OUT quickly ... though, they do have a transfer policy in place ... so, if you need to sell your Bib, really no risk

•Entry fees are non-refundable, but your race entry can be transferred to another person during the official transfer period: July 2nd to September 2nd

I've decided that since I'm not moving to Toronto this summer I'm going to fly back to Ottawa for this.

Y'all can get yer CAW fix!

I will be meeting up and running with a friend who is posted to Gagetown.

AWESOME!

I just have to remind Al that we should register soon... and make him decide if he's picking a 5K or a 1/2 course registration. I'm thinking a 1/2 might be too ambitious 5 months pp :shifty:

Just got an email from my hotel POC out there asking if I wanted a block of rooms. I'm going to say yes - there are always people needing rooms, so they are easy to get rid of...and who knows??

Hmmm ... as of today, only 52% sold out for the 1/2 Marathon and 47% for the 5K .... Things will likely pick up once ORW is over with after next weekend, I would suspect .....

And, for those of you who may have missed the announcement, a bit of change on the 1/2 marathon course have been made ... fyi ...

Rideau Hall to Be Part of 2014 Canada Army Run
Official Half Marathon Course

OTTAWA—The Office of the Secretary to the Governor General is pleased to announce that Rideau Hall, the official residence of Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, and Mrs. Sharon Johnston, will be part of the official course of the Canada Army Run Half Marathon, on Sunday, September 21, 2014. This exciting addition will further enhance the experience of participants coming from across Canada and around the world.

“As patrons of the Canada Army Run, Sharon and I will be delighted to welcome thousands of half-marathon participants to Rideau Hall, the home of the people of Canada, this fall,” said His Excellency. “On that day, join us in supporting our Canadian Armed Forces members and their families as you undertake the challenge of running, walking or rolling for this worthy cause. Your participation is a meaningful way to pay tribute to the men and women in uniform who embody Canada’s commitment to the values of duty, honour and service.”

I am having trouble deciding. Its a week after our wedding, and although I'd love to do the 1/2 (especially with the new section through the GGs), I suspect most of my two weeks prior to the wedding will be beer drinking and hiking in Cape Breton, and not so much running getting done.

I originally planned on returned to do the Canadian Army Half this year. However, I am off to the Top of Utah Marathon this year. My planned run there for last year was interrupted by my medical issues. They gave me a deferral on the registration and encouraged me to run this year. This was my first marathon way back in 2004.

I signed up for the half! Although winter full training appears to have kicked my butt and I'm having trouble getting back into a regular running routine. I am looking forward to running through the GGs property.
