2014 Spring Fling March Thing - Thursday

Postby HCcD » Thu Mar 20, 2014 6:08 am

What a nice way to welcome Spring 2014 then with rain this morning, turning the overnight's itty bitty snow to slush walking to the office this morning ... Suppose to go up to 3C or so by this afternoon, then we wait for, hopefully, one final gast of a winter snowstorm over the weekend, according to the forecast ... :?

19km with 15km at marathon pace this morning. Wicked headwind for the return portion of my run made it tough.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

11.2k around the neighbourhood. Would have gone longer, but I was running out of time. It felt nice to be outside in the morning again, and I only had a few ice patches and puddles to dodge, so that's an improvement!

Yippee hurray, first early morning outside run since (I think) before Christmas! Only had time for 9 km, but it was wonderful to be out there at my favorite running time of day again. Unfortunately, it's supposed to freeze overnight and those areas that were just water this morning will be ice tomorrow. Oh well - at least I got outside on the first day of Spring. :) Hope everyone else does as well!

It's a snow globe over here this morning! -13 when I woke up and going down to -23 this evening. Someone forgot to tell mother nature it is spring. I will run today - inside on the TM. Distance TBD.

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

No spring here..just enough snow and freezing rain to make it slippery out.

I did get out for a mini, token spring run today. It's slush city around here, with more snow expected over the next couple of days. I've decided that spring isn't a season here, it's a process.
