Oh-Dark-FRIDAY

Postby BaldGuy » Fri Mar 21, 2014 6:27 am

The whole family up at 6:30 to walk/run. It's easier to get out of bed when the rest of the house is, too.

In the continuing theme of starting over, today was C25K Week 2, Day 1. 90 seconds running, 2 minutes walking, for 20 minutes. 5 min. warmup and cooldown. It was harder than the Week 1 workouts, but not impossible. Trying to keep my mind in the present while still being able to call on the past for inspiration.

Happy Friday, Maniacs!

Woohoo, glad to see you back at it James!!
We are going to the TRACK today!! I can't wait!!! I have a feeling it will be humbling, lol, or maybe not as I expect to be VERY slow. It's a start, though.

Fantastic, James! Rest day of sorts, for me. I was out the door at 6:45 to walk to the ferry, then walked to my Rotary meeting, then to work. That might be it for the day, other than walking home.

Started the day with 7.7 miles on the TM. It was intended to be a hard progression workout, but just wasn't feeling the love, so the progression was relatively easy. This is where the TM is good - since I have to actually slow down the settings to slow down my running, I will force myself to work harder and hold a pace. Whereas if I'm running outside or on the track, I'll just slow down and coast. Sometimes without even truly realizing it.

Trying to plan my weekend running but the weather is supposed to be awful so will have to wait and see how much snow/freezing rain/rain we get. All I know for sure is that I am very, very tired and unmotivated right now. Around the Bay is next Sunday and I am not feeling the love. It's three weeks before Boston, and with the nose dive in my training, I wasn't expecting a real race. But at this point I'm also thinking that if the weather is still sucky, I may not even show up. Heck, there is a part of me that doesn't want to show up for Boston, either. Just need to get to the end of this reporting cycle, and some pressure will be lifted, even though we immediately plunge into the next one.

At least it's Friday! And even if I end up working this weekend (very likely) it will be at home.

Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

James - love hearing about the family getting out there together!

4 km on the TM for me. I've been starting to feel more tired this week, so need to be careful not to overdo it, but I find the exercise perks me up!

60 minutes on the rowing machine. Tried the TM first but the arthritis in my hip didn't want to co-operate....

I meant to run today but was so wiped out I spent the day on the couch, reading and napping. Run tomorrow. Then long trail run on Sunday with a new trail buddy who is faster than me. I'm a little nervous about that lol.
