SPRING!!! (Monday)
SPRING!!! (Monday)
The forecast is calling for 16 and sunny after work, so I brought stuff to run home. I'm sure it won't be a great run, the first one of the year with a backpack, but I'll enjoy it nonetheless.

It's already 15°C here at 8:30 a.m., but we're to get 2-4 cm of snow tomorrow.

wacky weather around here for sure!
TM for me this morning - 4 km done. Wasn't feeling it for the first few hundred metres, but then got into a groove.

Re: SPRING!!! (Monday)
rest and hydrate day today, and I'm feeling fatigued so it's good. My left quad is killing me on stairs (just the left one, lol).
eta: lots and lots of sun yesterday... feeling that a bit today too.

Will do a short easy one on the treadmill after work. Had my longest run in two years on the weekend..30kms! Next up..Nike women's half in DC and the Ottawa full in May. Is anyone else going to be in DC?
Woke up at 4am thinking about my race splits for Ottawa.

Re: SPRING!!! (Monday)
I kind of dithered about what to do for exercise this morning and ended up running 6 km on the indoor track. Probably tomorrow will be an elliptical and weights day, then some running Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Then no more running until the marathon next Monday. Not feeling the love but will just try to keep an "enjoy the experience" attitude. And undoubtedly once I'm in Boston, and (most importantly) away from the office and all its stresses, it will start to be more appealing. Right now all I can see are the mountains of work to get done before then.
Have a great day, everyone.

Managed 1.8km in the pool. It was a nice swim as there was only 3 other people in it.

23 degrees...sweated out 5.5K in shorts and T-shirt. Now it's raining, with thundershowers this evening and that dreaded "mixed precipitation" at some point.

Re: SPRING!!! (Monday)
I am on day 6 of the plague, but finally starting to feel human. I did try a swim on Saturday but due to feeling weak and having a bad cough it did not go well. Tonight I have registered spin. I plan on getting there early to do some stretching and abs and then give the class a go. I will listen to my body and not push it. I feel like I need a good sweat!

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

Re: SPRING!!! (Monday)
Swapped today's rest day with tomorrow morning's run on account of a gorgeous evening, a crummy forecast for tomorrow, and the first of my final exams. 14K done in shirt and shorts with some of it on soggy trails.
