Irish Sunday

Postby Ken B » Sun May 04, 2014 6:26 am

I decided to take advantage of the time difference and start the daily thread.

Out for a short, easy run today in preparation for tomorrow's Belfast Marathon.

Irish Sunday

Postby Jwolf » Sun May 04, 2014 7:03 am

Oh you're so lucky Ken! I love Ireland- have a great race tomorrow.

Good morning! I'm up early to get ready for the half-marathon today.

The past few times they've predicted rain on race day we ended up getting lucky with dry weather. Not so much today.
It's a wet one out there but at least it won't be very cold. Embrace the rain! It's going to be fun. :)

Have a good one everyone and best of luck to all those racing today in Vancouver, Toronto, Mississauga, and elsewhere.

My fingers are crossed that the rain will let up later this morning. I would like a dry run for me but especially for my friends doing the full. We'll see how long I end up wearing my stylish Canada poncho.

Finished the half in 2:02 while following the plan perfectly. :) Very happy. Thanks Rob! I'll post a report later.

Finished a very soggy BMO Half in 2:04:30. Passed Rob and Jwolf around 2k on the downhill. They caught me and passed me at 15k on the uphill.

turns out yesterday's slog may have been because I was coming down with a bug. :/ have been feeling crappy since yesterday. but not too bad to at least *attempt* a run. So I'm going to take the puppy out for a bit and see how I feel, and then distance tbd. I may not get the long run in but at least can get in something. Wish me luck!

Also I'm too late to wish the racers luck today, but I hope you all had a great day. :)

Somehow I missed yesterday's thread so I'll update twice for today. :)

Saturday as 3.5 km outside - today was 3.2 km on the treadmill, since it was raining and I didn't want to take c out in the stroller. Still feeling good, but I've now introduced some walk breaks after each km. Hoping to get in some walks in the sunshine this week now that I'm done work and have a bit more time!

managed only 7km with the puppy. Legs felt relatively ok but my head and throat were getting worse by the mile so I'm calling it a day. Better than nothing I guess.

6.6K on the TM to avoid the nonstop rain outside. Was not up to running in pouring rain on a recovery day....

Hey! I'm in Ireland, too!

But I'm hanging in Dublin, and though I did get a 6km run in, our "marathons" have been more of the park-walking, pub-visiting, Sunday-session-watching type. :) Was thinking of going to Belfast...Hope the race was great (assuming it was on Sunday).

No running today, but spent 7 hours skiing today to take advantage of the snow! Took the kids up for one last day of skiing and lessons. My quads were definitely feeling yesterday's long run!
