Trying Tuesday

Postby RA. » Tue May 13, 2014 6:31 am

I got up early and instead of running, decided to clean my condo. When you have the choice to run or clean, always run. I would have felt a lot more accomplished had I run instead of cleaning out the laundry closet.

Oh well. I did walk the 4.5k to work.

Spin class tonight. It's rainy out, so I wasn't able to bike to work.

11km this morning, with 5km tempo on trails. Trying to sharpen up a bit for a trail race in the Adirondacks in a few weeks.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

I like this thread's title! Today is very much about "trying" for me as I start to try and train for my first tri :). After a successful spring marathon, I'm ready to explore a different sport before my fall build-up. I've committed to a sprint triathlon in July, in lovely St. Andrews-by-the-Sea, NB. My goal is survive the harbour swim so I can watch my friends compete in the 70.3 the next day :).

Plan for today: a sunny run and a lunch swim!
We train more joyfully and productively when we focus on the now, rather than on our future race day performance. It's a long road from here to there with many miles to go. We need to run each one. Accept where you are today and simply be thankful for the work you've accomplished. KA

fun! triathlon is a nice summer diversion if you can time it right with spring and fall running races. :)

Last swim of this pregnancy this morning - 1650 m done. Our lane seemed extra busy today.

Very fitting title! I tried to hit the TM but just didn't have it tonight. I've got some stiffness in my hip and I'm just feeling like a break would be good. Back at it tomorrow.

It's been a very trying Tuesday for me. My toe is trying my patience. I've been trying to get my "Shoe Angel" to call me back, so I can get in and get some advice on new shoes. I'm trying (and not succeeding) not to get frustrated.

trying tuesday for me too!

10 miles done... the first couple were with the pup but it was really warm out for him so I took him home and did the rest alone. beginning and end were tired but the middle felt strong.
