Sunny Sunday

Postby erinmcd » Sun Aug 10, 2014 8:18 am

Good morning all!

Easy paced 6km with the dog this morning. I'll get out again later today for something longer.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Just a walk for me today. We got out to hike a nice trail yesterday, and then walked in Point Pleasant today. It was good to catch the sun before it clouded over!

Ran 13 kms today, my longest run this year I think. Going to visit the Taste of the Danforth this afternoon (a Greek food festival!). That will be a fun way to loosen up!

10 miles outside for me today. That's about it until my first run at ENDURrun on Friday. Maybe a 5K during week but we'll see.

9k "scenic" tour of New Westminster. I got hooked into doing a "Maison" run (one of the Bonsor runners who likes to lead folks off to see "interesting" landmarks which usually involves long, difficult "short cuts"), I got off easy as it wasn't too long and there was a bit of shade and a nice breeze when we didn't have shade. I was leery to go as my legs were tired from yesterdays long run and a fair amount of dancing at the Blues Festival but it ended up being fine. I did better than I probably would have done had I stayed on the regular route and lagged at the back of the pack.

ENDURrun Stage 1: Half Marathon

Set a new PB under 1:40, which is about 2 minutes faster than my time for this race last year. I felt really good, albeit a bit strained in my left hamstring. Tomorrow is a short 15 km time trial. :-)

Canfitpro is finally over. I was there from 6:00 this morning, so I'm not long for this world tonight. Back to regularly scheduled training tomorrow. My legs have actually really appreciated the rest!

Had a great weekend camping. Went canoeing yesterday, then did a hot & sweaty 10k when I got home. I think I smelled like campfire the whole way!
