Mangled-Toe Monday

Postby scrumhalfgirl » Mon Sep 22, 2014 2:04 pm

No running for me today! My feet are pretty beat up after yesterday's half in the rain. At least 3 toes are already turning purple - it's not pretty! Overall though, I'm happy with the race - 1:53 and change, on the weekend baby boy turned 4 months old. :D Army Run is always a great race - the tour through the Governor General's grounds (where he greeted each runner!) was a nice addition.

Anyone else hobbling around today?

My toes are fine, but I have a nice cankle on the left. I'm hoping that the swelling and pain go down quickly, but I might just be calling the next two weeks a really aggressive taper!

Took 2 weeks off running to let my Achilles feel better. But I had to get in at least a short tun today (15 easy minutes) to make myself feel better! Feeling far too sketchy and sleep-deprived after a weekend of class reunion partying. Only a run can fix it. I'm hoping the vague chest congestion I'm feeling is just recovery from laryngitis due to being in noisy bars.

XC speedwork: step ladder to 100 & back (10 steps hard, 10 steps easy, 20 & 20, ...) + WU/CD for 10K on a warm afternoon.

No hobbling for me but then I only did the 5K at the Army Run. 20 minutes hard on the rowing machine this morning plus soccer scrimmage this evening. Plus beer & wings.
