Thanksgiving Monday!

Postby erinmcd » Mon Oct 13, 2014 11:06 am

Good morning from Vancouver!

My brother and I flew out yesterday to spend some time with my grandparents this week. Got out this morning for a little over an hour on the trails by their house- bush whacking, falling down, getting lost- good times!
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

17K outside today...ran to Scanlon Creek and then through the trails there with my neighbour Emiel. Great day for running.

Nice day for 7.5k. Still not getting out enough; too busy, mainly. Exercise is leaving me feeling slightly woozy-headed – I'm wondering if I've gone slightly anemic. I had a problem with that 20 years ago. But I wasn't eating as well back then!

Gorgeous weekend for fall running here in Ottawa!

Friday, I did 14km along the canal. Saturday, a quick 6 km solo in our 'hood before we headed to the cottage. Sunday, just 5 km at the cottage - dressed in bright colours because it's hunting season.

Today, I was on the TM because I was up early with both kids and it was still quite dark and cold out. Decided to do a progression run, and it was great! 8 km total, descending each km from 6min/kim down to 4:45/km. I did the same paces last week for km repeats with recovery and today was continuous, so felt strong.

32 rather painful km done, I am thankful to the weather gods for the near perfect running weather.

Just a shortish recovery swim today. Kind of spoiled, one of three people in a 8 lane pool :)

Just thought I'd toot my own horn a little bit. I finally ran under 20 minutes (19:55) in a 5K today at the Oktoberfest 5K in Kitchener-Waterloo. It was so intense, and over so very fast, but I loved it!

Then I went to Guelph and ran the mile with my ten year old son and 100 m with my five year old daughter. The eight year old ran the 1 km on his own.
