Interesting article about running and aging

Postby Dstew » Sun Nov 02, 2014 11:42 pm

http://www.runnersworld.com/masters/eff ... -and-aging

It is interesting to me on several levels but the most relevant is that in listening to my body and looking back at my experience, my best running was always after a winter of strength training. I figured that because of my size, I required more strength to carry the extra mass but it may be more then just that. A nice coincidence to run across this article on a bored Sunday night after my first week of a new weight training and structured weight training regime of three times a week.

Fascinating articles, both the Runners' World and the Globe and Mail link.
I think I'll start my winter weight routine a little sooner this year!

Have added Bulgarian Split Squats months ago. As well as back squats/front squats and deadlifts!

Seriously - a great article, with lots of "ah ha" moments!
