is it too early for Ottawa race weekend weather obsession?

I am running the marathon this year. Hoping for nice cool weather and a gentle breeze...

As of today, the forecast reckons:

Saturday: 23c high and 11kph winds 37kph gusts, high UV index
Sunday: 21c high, 4kph winds 11kph gusts, moderate UV index

I know it will change but I'm tapering and thought it'd be fun to track the weather.

never too early! i would love some of the cooler temps they;re calling for this coming week, but right now i'm just hoping mother nature has gotten this crazy heat wave out of her system. at least we're getting some acclimation time!

Mid to high teens with a slight breeze would be just fine for me. I agree with scrumhalfgirl, at least we'll have some time to acclimate this year. I know I've been trying to get outside in the heat as much as possible the last couple of weeks.

Cooler temperatures than this past week would be nice. I try not to think about it too much because it will change between now and it is the one element of race day we can't control.

AccuWeather is now saying sunny and a high of 20 for Saturday. The Weather Network is saying sunny and 16. That latter forecast would be darn near perfect, especially if it clouded over with a slight breeze.

my weather network website is saying rainy and 21 (feels like 23) - we don't even have agreement within a single provider!

I have been looking at the forecast everyday this week and it is constantly changing. Regardless of the weather I'll be wearing shorts and t-shirt so in the end it doesn't really matter.

It's the gusting wind that worries me. If it's in the face going up rockliffe Pkwy. Gulp!
