A warm and sunny half in niagara. Not my best by a long shot, but a great event! Katharine Switzer picked me up and swirled me around at the finish! How cool is that.

super excited to go on an adventure this afternoon with a friend. We're going to go scout out a route/destination that I've heard of but which is a bit hidden/unknown so we may or may not be successful in finding it. It's going to be a hot one though!

Sadly no pics unless they turn up in the race photos.

I should also mention that my chip malfunctioned. It showed me starting but not finishing. Since my garmin time exactly matched the start, they allowed my garmin time. A first for this happening to me, and surprisingly easy to resolve.

Beautiful 16 km run today, my best run of the year so far. Perfect temperature, moderate breeze. And I even scored some peanut butter samples. :P I was happy to see that the Sunnyside Café is open. 11 to 9 daily, they said. If it hadn't been busy I might have been tempted to put back a pint before my return trip. :D

Sunday sunburn day for me: I rode 125K in 5:25 and got a sunburn on a small patch of exposed skin between my cycling gloves and my sleeves.

well we did not accomplish our mission. Found the right trail, but somehow missed a junction. I'm not sure how since we were following clear flagging the whole way. Looking at the GPS, we should have turned north at one point but continued east. It's good that we didn't keep going (the wrong way!). We ended up turning around because the trail was getting sketchy and it was getting late. I will have to go out again and find that junction!

eta: as luck would have it, though, we did exactly the right distance to bring me to my goal of 80km for this week. :)
