Army Run Sunday

Postby Caocao » Sun Sep 20, 2015 4:46 am

Up way too early to go drop off my son who is volunteering for the AR. I have to find something to occupy myself between 0630 and the start of the 1/2 M starts at 0930 :(

Good luck to all the participants!

I'm here at the Rosedale running room to help lead a Scotiabank marathon tune up run. Perfect day for it! Good luck Army racers!

good luck racers!

intense rain here this morning. Part of me wishes I could go run in it, and part of me is glad to be indoors with my oatmeal and coffee. :)

still no running for me!

The rain mostly stayed away for us here in Burnaby. We did a pretty sluggish 21k, it was supposed to be 23k but we met up with the Bonsor gang after doing an early 13k and it turned out that the route they were doing was only 8k and we couldn't bring ourselves to add on any more.

Did the Terry Fox run today in Stanley Park in 51 min. It was only 9.5k so that was a pace of 5:24/km for me. :)

Congrats to all the racers out there today.

Did the Fitz Frenzy 21K Trail Race today. https://www.facebook.com/notifications? ... zyTrailRun

I got there a little late so had to jog 50 m to the pre-race instructions. My left shoe was a little loose so I bent down to pull the cord a little tighter and it broke. Jogged back to the car to get my regular running shoes and jogged back to catch the last 2-3 minutes of the instructions. I was lucky the cord broke when it did and not in the back woods. I notice the right cord is quite frayed too, so runners, it might be worthwhile to check your laces/cords before you next go for a run.
