Marathon Recovery Monday

Postby scrumhalfgirl » Mon Oct 17, 2016 7:53 am

Ran the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon yesterday - heading down stairs is a bit tricky but my legs feel surprisingly good. The rough part is that I got sick on Saturday night before the race and I have now totally lost my voice! Lots of whispering for me today.

Race was a tough one, but I'm happy with the result - 3:35:06 which should hopefully be good enough for a BQ for 2018 when I age up. My training partner also qualified so we're hoping to go down together! She's a couple of age groups ahead of me and qualified in 2015 and ran this year. I'm already signed up for 2017 (she didn't run another qualifier), so hopefully we'll be able to get there the same year now!

Well done, Scrummy!

I plan on 5k or so later today.

ETA: No run today, the cold I've caught wiped me out more than I thought it would. We'll see how tomorrow goes.

I'm sick too!

I'm going to try to muddle through my trainer session today. Leg day - could be interesting. My legs are surprisingly fine despite the half yesterday.

Take care all you sick people.

Ran part of the race route from Saturday and picked up my gloves I had tossed at one of the permanent trail markers. It was so windy the last few days they were not exactly where I left them, but close enough I found them.

Short fartlek workout (about 9K total) with the XC kids. It's still winter here for another day or so.
