HAPPY BIRTHDAY CANADA, Saturday

Postby Habs4ever » Sat Jul 01, 2017 7:58 am

I hope every one gets out today and does something to celebrate this great country we live in and call home.
We are headed out for a run about 9 and then brunch with the group. Maybe we can get enough of us out to total our mileage to 150km for today's run.

That would be great! I'm sure someone will do the math.

I am a few minutes away from heading out for my long run.

Ooh, I wished I'd known about the 150k Maniac Canada Day challenge--I would have run more! 4k run, and 2k walked. Now to get busy baking cakes for the family gathering tomorrow. Have a great weekend, all you Maniacs!

Our group this morning did over 150km. We totaled it to 150.2, but then realized we forgot one gal that didn't stay for brunch after, so add another 5km to that total! We all had red shirts on and a stranger offered to take our picture. It was fun. I contributed 13km to that total.

Yes, we could try for a Maniac 150 challenge also.

I can contribute 22k.

Marathon training has started. I'm jumping into the program near the end of week 7 as I gave myself a bit of recovery from the half marathon last Sunday. I wasn't following a half marathon training program mileage-wise, but I modelled my workouts around the Hanson's program so the transition won't be too steep. My last tempo workout for the half was 6 miles at half-marathon pace and my next tempo workout is 7 miles at marathon pace. I'm a fair bit behind on overall mileage had I followed the program from the start, but this has been the norm for the past few cycles I have done.

Oh, and I wore a red shirt.

I'm sure there are some on here who ran but haven't posted on here so we can imagine this was a success. Unless Habs wants to go out for a quick 41.5?

La did a maple leaf shaped run that she posted on Facebook.

I just looked it up... 12km. That should definitely be added to the total.
