November Mileage Challenge! :)

Postby ultraslacker » Sun Oct 31, 2010 10:18 pm

Starting my new training program November 1.

If I follow the plan perfectly, I'll do 150 miles in November.

I want to set another goal for November, but don't know what it should be. October's was 60K, which I met, (+1 for good measure!). What's a safe increase?
Those 60K didn't come easy, so maybe I'm best to set that again and embrace anything extra as a bonus.

November should be my first and only major build-up month for Goofy Challenge 2011, as it is only about 9 weeks away from today ... So, unless something happens, should be somewhere between 300-400 KM for the month ... :P

42.2km on the 7th :D Aside from that, very little as November is my rest month and I intend to do nothing at all until December.

Somwhere around 200km probably, but I'm still in the "run whatever I feel like" stage for another month or so. The mileage should start to build in December, then the 18 week plan for a spring marathon starts in Jan. Time flies......

As I did back in September, my goal is # of runs, not mileage. November's goal is 14 runs, which will likely bring me in around 100K.

I'm back! I was counting down the days in October until I could put those runners back on.

I'll start the month off with a modest goal of 150 miles.
Plan for 2017:
END-SURE 25k...done! 2:30:23
Spruce Woods Ultra volunteering...done!
Kettle Moraine 100
Western States 100 crewing
Falcon Fatass 50k
Superior 100

More of the same - try to stay the course by running almost every lunch hour I can, and hope to maybe get a weekend run in (if I'm lucky). There's 21 lunch hours for me, so I'll aim for at least 20 runs. Should get me about 120 km.

Can anyone join in the challenge? If so, I need the extra motivation as i am going on vacation to make sure I get some runs in while away. Put me down for 100km.

about 250k, I know I'll be missing a few runs mid-month, and have a big race at the end of the month.

Hmm.....ramping up back to pre-injury levels, so I think this would be reasonable (I'm fudging a little and including my LSD yesterday as part of this month since I didn't join the Oct challenge, otherwise tracking my weeks would get too confusing):

week 1: 35km
week 2: 40km
week 3: 45km
week 4: 45km
nov 28-30: 23km

I'll round that up to 190km for the monthly goal in mileage. More importantly for me is making sure I get in 5 runs a week, 1 yoga/core/pilates weekly, and 1 spin class weekly.

I'm really bad at tracking my km's, so I'll use this as a kick in the butt to start!

Since I don't usually track, I'll say 60km and see where i go with that.

2011 plans
Resolution Run - 48 min (walked...it was COLD!)
WPS Half Marathon - DNF, 1:20ish at 10.75km
Fargo 5K & 10K - 5K walked 48 something. 10K 1:13:55
Try a Trail series
And others TBD...

I've fallen short of my goal for Sept. & Oct. (250k each month), so I'll try again for November. 250k

I'd like to hold my monthly average of about 150km /month.

That'll put my over 1000 miles for the year before month's end. That would be nice.

Put me in for 150km. Need to get back on track!

I've noticed that our training (and race goals) seems to have a lot in common. You sure you're not my long-lost twin? ;)
