Had a long, winded question about mile repeats in my training but sorted it all out; didn't seem necessary to keep the original post floating around in cyber space.
Happy trails!

We train more joyfully and productively when we focus on the now, rather than on our future race day performance. It's a long road from here to there with many miles to go. We need to run each one. Accept where you are today and simply be thankful for the work you've accomplished. KA

Re: mile repeats
I'll let the pros give you advice, but just as a frame of reference:
mcmillan gives a tempo pace of just *slightly* slower than my best recent 10k pace, and a mile pace of *slightly* faster than my 10k pace. So the miles are a little faster than the tempo, and significantly faster than marathon pace.

Re: mile repeats
The relationship between a coach and his athlete is a two-way act of faith.
Why not discuss your training concerns with your coach rather taking advice from people who in all probability don’t know you, your training history and have never seen you run.

Thanks guys - I thought about this more ad I'll chat with my friend. I'd like to delete this post; just can't figure out how...it was the wrong thing to bring up.
