April 2013 Training Goals
Continued triathlon training for me so I expect my bike time will at least double. I am not sure about totals but I am still planning on three swims, bikes, and runs per week or as much as I can manage.

Re: April 2013 Training Goals
If I follow my plan exactly, I'll have 160 miles (257.5km). But I probably won't follow it to the letter, so we'll see.

I'd be pleased to top 150km in April. The main goals are to have fun at the Spring Runoff and survive the Run For the Diamond Half.

Re: April 2013 Training Goals
Just want to keep up with my training plan. March went very well with no injuries and no set backs. I've seen a nice bump in my endurance recently and my pacing has improved on my long runs so I'm getting there. Would also like to drop another 2-3 pounds this month to go along with the couple I dropped in March.
Re: April 2013 Training Goals
Continue with a good March and build from there. Now having said that, race day is just 5wks away and I will be starting my taper in about three weeks. So I'm looking at 140K or so for April.
PB’s (official race results)
5K – 26:20; 8K – 41:28; 10K – 52:13; 15K - 1:22:43; 21.1K – 1:54:16; 30K – 2:51:34; 42.2K – 4:24:14
What is up for 2018

I ran 311 last April, so I expect to come in around there again this month. Final build month before NCM!

Re: April 2013 Training Goals
Finally, broke 200+K for month of March, combination of running and walking on the treadmill, this year ....
Have a couple of events registered for in April, Minto Run4Reach 10K on the 14th and the Smiths Falls Spring Fling Running Thing Half Marathon the following week on the 21st .... Been toying with the Manotick 5K / 10K / 18K on the following week, but will see how the legs are feeling after Smiths Falls .... Neither of these races will be racing hard out, as I still have not 100% recovered from my funky foot injury, but things are starting to ligthen up and running fitness improving ...
Such the case, should be around 200K again for the month, and will be taking May as more or less as a r&r month on my Panama Canal Cruise ... plan to stay active, for sure, but moreso to stave off the weight-gain from all the food that I will likely be consuming on the ship ... And, if all goes well, hopefully, I will be able to get back to full training in June, and prepare for my Fall / Winter races ...

Re: April 2013 Training Goals
I'll be transitioning from my "winter of the gym" to springtime running. So instead of 3 gym sessions/2 runs a week, I'll be upping the runs to 3-4 per week, and gym just once or twice. I made it through the winter uninjured, and I want to stay that way!

Re: April 2013 Training Goals
Running: more than the 120K I ran in March (maybe 140-150K)
Swimming: at least once or twice this month
Spinning: at least one high-interval spin class per week
Cycling: hope to FINALLY get outside, which includes bike commuting as much as possible, and at least one long outdoor ride per week.

Things got shifted around as I had a couple of bad runs, and Coach wanted to make sure that I was on track for the final push, so I ended up with 2 cutback weeks in the middle of April -- ended the month with 331 km -- happy with how the training is going now..... Another big week coming up, and then slowly diminishing towards taper!!!

21 runs, 356K. I've had a bunch of months like this now and it seems to be just the right balance between staying in racing shape and not getting hurt.
