Mar - Around the Bay 30 km - Done
May - Sulphur Spring 100 miler - DNS
Sept - Army HM
Sept/Oct - 50 miler
Oct - Pace Bunny - Toronto Scotia Waterfront
Dec - Reggae Marathon in Jamaica

The month starts with the BMO Vancouver Marathon this weekend and the half I'll be racing in. After BMO, the rest of May will be recovery and maintaining my base. No mileage goals in place for the month, but I will certainly get some long runs. Also, I will plan out my race strategy for the fall.
PB’s (official race results)
5K – 26:20; 8K – 41:28; 10K – 52:13; 15K - 1:22:43; 21.1K – 1:54:16; 30K – 2:51:34; 42.2K – 4:24:14

What is up for 2018
Feb 11th - First Half Vancouver
TBA
Planning & in my sights
Jun 9th - Puddle Jumper Classic

Schedule shows 156km, but I'll settle for less - just want to stay healthy as I work towards the TO Women's Half on the 26th. Also trying to be more diligent on strength training on my off days.
PR's so far: 5K 27:15, 10K 55:25, 21.1K 2:10:53, 42.2K 5:21:27
Upcoming: Toronto Women's 5k in May, STWM Half in October

Bike, bike, bike, bike, bike, bike, bike... :)

Seriously, I just want to survive my bike trip next week and get through as many of the rides as possible without having to hop in the sag wagon.

Should be a quiet month of running with tapering for the Ottawa 1/2 Marathon and first 3 weeks on a cruise holiday, so not too much long runs planned, though, I suspect will be a bit of running/walking on the treadmill on the ship, as well as other cross training activities to kill time, as there will be at least 10 full sea days on the cruise itinerary ... Goal is not to gain too much weight ... :shifty:  and expect to be around 175-200K for the month ...

Well, Clinic is done, but I will be leading the next one that begins in June.

Meantime, I have a race this weekend, as well as my debut as a pace bunny at ORW. I'm thinking that most of my long runs will be RW practicing pace.

I had a good month in April, so I hope to continue from that success. I would like to build my running mileage a bit while continuing with the cycling and swimming. If all works out it should shape up pretty similarly to April with a bit more volume of running and cycling.

No real mileage goal for May.

I'm racing the Goodlife Half this Sunday and the SportingLife 10K the following Sunday. The rest of the month will be recovery and start of base building for the fall.

Also will start adding more swimming and biking to get ready for my first try-a-tri on July 20. (2 days before I turn 40)

I will try 150 km in may. April went well, I feel good and me goal of a half marathon in september seem doable. Did 12,5km yesterday, I'm in for more this week-end!

Enjoy the sun and good run to everyone! 8-)

At this point my primary goal is to keep healthy so that I can put my best effort forward for the Ottawa half. I've had 18K and 20K runs over the past few weeks and I have a 22K coming up this weekend before the schedule starts tapering down. I know I haven't hit the full 21.6K yet, but it's a big boost for me to know that I covered 18K and 20K at very close to my goal pace, with no issues and without feeling like you should after the end of a race. I'm cautiously optimistic about hitting my goal and possibly even exceeding it. Physically I believe I can do it, I just need to have that mental focus for a much longer period of time than what I've had to have in the past.

Secondary goals are to continue dropping a few pounds before race day and to get out and run in some hotter temps to try and acclimate some more to the changing conditions. At this point in the game I don't think there is anything major I can do to have huge impacts on how I finish, it's just building confidence and mentally getting ready to go.

After race weekend my training goal is to get my fly rod out and hit some water, LOL :D

April was great for consistancy, for May I want to increase distances. So goals will be 150km of running and 15,000m of swimming.

A great month, although my lowest mileage in 3 years - 220K. The races made up for it though. No PB, but a decent race at Good Life, and an amazing time pacing the ORW half!

Results:
Running: 328.65 km. Close enough
4tFire: only 2 classes
Yoga: only 3 classes
Weight: down 19 lbs year-to-date
And... no injuries. Woo-hoo! So overall, good on the running front, not so good on the cross-training. I'll take it. :)

For May:
14 swims, 9 hours total
19 runs (including a very short t-run), 140K
8 bikes (3 indoor, 5 outdoor), 162K

That's more running and swimming than last month but less cycling (mostly because of less indoor riding). I swam 3 x week, ran 4 x week, and biked 2 x week on average. I think realistically that's about where my happy place is. :)

May: 15 runs, 276K, 2 races. I'm still quite content to be getting 90% of my former speed with 50% of my former training.

Failed big on the strength training - I really, really need to get my act together on that - but otherwise I feel it was a successful month. Came back from a disastrous April with 110.5km this month and a nice PR at the Women's Half.
