January 2014 Training Goals

Postby HCcD » Wed Jan 01, 2014 7:38 pm

Tapering down for the inaugural Dopey Challenge in the first week of the month .... also, then taking a recovery week afterwards, then continue recovery while focusing for the Ft Lauderdale 1/2 marathon on mid-February .... such the case expect to be around 200-225k, depending how the recovery goes ....

Hoping for somewhere around 450km this month, with 6 or more speed sessions... weather permitting.

By the end of January I will be at the beginning of the marathon training program. I just want to continue the consistent running I've been doing, 6 days/week, and will probably be about 260K by the end of the month if all goes well.

I want to keep running outdoors this winter. This will be a first for me, as I've always had to pretty much give it up due to injury. We'll see how it goes this January. Will try to run 4X/week, distance each time TBD. If running just isn't happening due to weather, I'll be back at the gym!

Just want to get back to a regular running schedule. Aiming for 3x a week this month - hopefully conditions permit.

I didn't set any goals for January other than to complete the Dopey Challenge on Jan 9-12. That's done, so my goal is complete! :D

And when I tally it all up, I likely will have logged more than half my monthly mileage in a single four-day span!

Managed 513km, and 6 speed sessions in spite of some unpleasant weather. Still need to up my game on the speed, but staying healthy trumps that.

my goal was 120 miles but I missed it by about 25, which is dumb because I'm supposed to be training. Have just been so exhausted all month. :/ Going to try to improve for February...

Managed 130k running. Was good with cross training days until the middle of the month when I was just too tired and draggy to manage any swims or spin workouts. Seems to be an epidemic of, almost ... but not quite sick going around.

Had lost my mojo, and finally got it back in mid-Jan so the month fell short of where I should have been, but at least now I'm "back in the saddle" :D

Mar - Around the Bay 30 km - Done
May - Sulphur Spring 100 miler - DNS
Sept - Army HM
Sept/Oct - 50 miler

Yes!

I don't feel sick, but have felt fatigued/exhausted all month. I think it has been a rough bug season for us... those of us who haven't succumbed are probably just worn out from fighting it. :/

The month pretty well went as planned ... Completed the Dopey Challenge and pretty well took it easy the rest of the month ... Ended up with just over 202K on 19x runs ...
