Re: RM Trail Race Shallonge Trophy
Maybe someone who's been around here longer than me should chime in (please someone confirm or correct), but my understanding goes like this:
One or more person(s) shallonges one or more other person(s) i.e. throw out the shallonge. A specific race and the terms of victory are proposed, such as first across the line, closest to predicted time, biggest PB improvement, etc.
The other person(s) accept the shallonge and/or other interested folks could join in; if no one accepts I believe there is no shallonge but could be wrong on that point.
There is a mandatory period of good-natured trash talk in the race thread.
The race is run and spoils to the victor.
I believe that Doonst threw a shallonge earlier in this thread to me, airforcerunner, casual_runner, and ironboy for the ITT race, but I don't think anyone has accepted yet.

Yeah its all about the trash talk! Its why we do it. But it is not just the fastest maniac at any given race, or Robbie-T would spoil everything.
Ironboy has signed up for ITT, and Casual has it listed in his SIG. So bring it, goatface. If you dare.

Forgive me, muffins, I forgot to make it clear this was a continuation of the trash talk. Shheesh.

Alright then...first the Shallonge challenge then the trash....then some more trash( mix, repeat) then spoils to the victor...if only politics were this simple.

Re: RM Trail Race Shallonge Trophy
So....the trail Shallonge has grown stale of late. Who has it, where is it, and where is the next venue?
With Albion Hills fast approaching, and an attendance list building, could be a good venue to revive this silliness.

I believe Doonst has it (evidence two posts up) who was taking it to ITT and the Hamiburton but I don't know if it went anywhere after that.

I think it was last spotted at the end of Doonst's driveway. If you contact him, he might be able to pull it in before pickup day.
I am fortunate to have Running Free as a sponsor. I like to keep silly stats and maps of my Daily Neighbourhood Tours, Races and Marathons run in a Silly Yellow Shirt.

What's going on with this? No posts since last year? Does Doonst still have the trophy?
