Good luck to all across the pond.

Weather forecast at Hali tomorrow is insane. 50+mm of rain! Are inflatable dingys allowed?

I'm at Hali and can indeed confirm that the weather is insane. The rain has only let up a few times in the past 24 hours. It's going to rain all night, too.

I got up this morning to see to 100 milers, 50 milers and 50k folks off. Then I crawled back in the tent to sleep some more until my 25k race started at 9am. It was really, really hard to crawl out of the sleeping bag again. I was warm and dry and outside is neither of those things.

UltraQueenga finished her first 50 miles in 10h52 and Viking in 10h55. So far, so good.

World 24H in Poland: Final results will not be up until after the closing ceremony.

At 23 hours:

Mike Morton: 265K (what is the US record? Scott Jurek set it in 2010)
Michaela D.: 233K

Canadians:

Wayne Gaudet: 211K (56 years old!)
Jeff Ashizawa: 188K
Bruce Barteax: 183K (57!)
Sharon Zelinski: 176K (a new PB)
Marylou Corino: 165K
Sue Armstrong: 163K
Cherie Cromie: 157K
Marika Hladki: 151K
David Carver: 52K (it appears Dave pulled out early. Not sure why)

The world record holder Ioanis Kouros is also racing. 227K is impressive, for a 56 years old.

Scott's record from 2010 is 266.677 km so as log as Mike Morton did not "pull the plug at 23h" he is most likely new US record holder.
Just if anyone is wondering who is Mike's Morton here is an interesting info about him http://mikebaileyultrarunning.blogspot.ca/2012/04/mike-morton-phenomena.html and an interview from talk ultra http://ec.libsyn.com/p/1/e/c/1ecaf9ccdbc3120b/Episode_7_-_Mike_Morton.mp3?d13a76d516d9dec20c3d276ce028ed5089ab1ce3dae902ea1d01cc8035d1ce5e0b9b&c_id=4464352

On Hali as per Derrick Spafford :", Keith Iskiw won the 50m. Melanie Boultbee won the womens 50k, and John W McAlister was leading the mens 100m and Laura Paulo was leading the women's 100m (at halfway)".

A huge congratulations to Canadian 24h team - it would be great to find out their stories.

The rain let up as it was getting dark. The clouds went away and i got to see stars. There were quite a few drops, but UltraQueenga and Viking made it through. When I left Hali, they were sitting, happy and tired, around the campfire.

I was happy with my race (26k).
