I did the 30K and thoroughly enjoyed it! I don't know if I'll ever be up for much longer than that - maybe the marathon.
The temperature didn't bother me at all, but it doesn't usually. The screen was cool, but it was a bit buggy at first. I REALLY tried not to look at it too much, or else I really would have gone bonkers. I loved how everyone had their own little aid stations set up.
It was a great way for me to get in some K's. Given the conditions outside, I KNOW I would not have been able to manage 30K.
Robin - you were awesome!

Re: Run4RKids - York University
I enjoy it. I found it a bit warmer this year at the start then last year, but maybe it was just me (and the fact I had been sick). I also missed the music for the first couple of hours until they got the PA system working. I didn't bring an ipod but next time I will just in case.
This event is largely a fundraiser and an event second, so I don't mind the stuff wrong with it too much. But what I did find was an issue for me was not changing directions every hour. This is an easy (and free) fix that I'll mention for next year. I felt it in my left knee going into the second hour and the switch would have helped I'm sure. I was really worried that night and the next day when I was having trouble bending my knee at all, sleeping was hard as well. Thankfully, come Monday it was back to normal.
It was great to see everyone, especially all the Maniacs that were there...we were well represented!!
I'm pretty sure I'll be back

Very calm cool and collected, but uh...a tad under trained?
Curious to see how I do past 42K (If I make it ).
Goal is the 50ish K region, but we shall see!

Just slow and easy. I think a lot of people undertrained probably, as this event is just coming off usual downtime.
Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday!

FYI.... They are adding a 12 hour this year!!
I'm in again for 2017 but just trying to figure out the distance...pretty sure it won't be the 12 hour though

Good luck. I found the pounding from the hard surface difficult after a couple hours last time out at York.
I am fortunate to have Running Free as a sponsor. I like to keep silly stats and maps of my Daily Neighbourhood Tours, Races and Marathons run in a Silly Yellow Shirt.

This will be the last year they hold the event if anyone wanting to try it before it goes....you can run as much (or as little) as you want.
