Gym/Tri bag: request for suggestions/reviews
I am tired of using Scotty's military backpack for my gym stuff. As much as it has lots of pockets, a spot for EVERY thing I need, and then some...it just doesn't fit into the locker very well, and I end up having to yank at it and risk losing my towel after my shower.
So I'm looking to replace it with something...ideally something that will fit nicely into an average locker without effort. Something that can hold my running shoes, and keep my wet bathing suit and cap in a separate place. Something that can hold my toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, deodorant, hair product, etc). If possible, I'd like to have room for a hair dryer too. I need to have room for a change of clothes/gym clothes.
My plan is to load up said bag with duplicates (toiletries, etc) and just keep it loaded...only taking out the swim/gym stuff to wash, etc.
I want everything I put in it to be easily accessible without having to completely unload it to get to stuff in the bottom. Compartmentalization would be fabulous.
Does such a bag exist? If so...where do I find it?

The Saucony Transition Bag comes to mind ....
Similar to the Resolution schwag that they gave out about 3 years ago .... Usually, run at abuot $69.95, if I recall

I don't think the transition bags will solve the fitting in the locker problem. Better to go with a slim back pack.
After rinsing I roll my wet swimsuit up in a towel. It gets pulled out as soon as possible to dry (in the trunk of my car, under my desk at work, etc).

I've been eyeing up a bag from RunningRoom. It belongs to a lady that tends to use the locker next to mine on Tues and Thurs nights when she runs and I swim...(she's training for Boston).
If I see her tonight I'll ask her for a "review" of her bag...but from what I've seen I'd have it packed pretty tight...I might want two...one for when I go to the Y to work out (running, weights) and one for when I swim.

Mine fits nicely in my GoodLife locker ... though, their lockers are likely larger than most standard gym lockers ...

I have the Running Room bag (and it holds a lot but it meant to be unzipped to be used properly) but for now I am using a Swiss Gear one that I got this summer.
I have a mesh bag just for my swim stuff - fins, pull buoy (that foam thing you stick between your legs), goggles, etc and my back pack for my running stuff (biking happens at home).
On double workout days, I would have no hope in heck of fitting everything in one bag and gettting it in my locker (I have a large locker at the base gym) - so I usually have two .

The thing is: There is fitting and then there is easy removal/access.
I can get Scotty's back pack to "fit" into the locker...but then I have a hard time getting anything in and out of it...so I end up having to yank the bag out of the locker, dig through get my stuff, shove the bag back in, and so on.

You may have to settle for a longer, skinnier back pack. You would still have to dig through but it would come out of the locker much easier.
or
The RR tri bag (the Saucony one they have right now) would most likely work, you would just have to unzip it to get at all of the little pockets inside that are there to hold your toiletries and stuff (mine has a hook that will hang it off the top of the locker door).

I would suggest either the ZIPP Transition bag, of the one we used for TTW.

That's what I have- the Race Schwag one and I love it. There is a separate place for shoes- it fits 2 pairs, and lots of little velco baggies for junk. I like the list of race day essentials printed on the inside.
It does not, however, fit really well into a locker.
A girl I went to Fliorida with last year has the Saucony one and she stuffed all her gear for the week in there.

Yep, that's what I usually do travelling ... have my Saucony as one of my two carry-ons ... and, a Heys rolling carry-on, as well ... gives me about 5-7 days worth of clothes when I travel ...
GoodLife has those huge custom cupboard lockers, not those metal one's at most clubs ....

I have the RR bag as well - I like the separate spot for my shoes. Mine regularly carries my swim stuff (including full towel and a pull buoy), my lunch, my purse, and a set of running clothes. It is also fairly comfy to carry - I take mine on the bus (when we have buses...). I have about a million kit bags from my various rugby teams at home, and I still spent money on this one.

I don't have any good suggestions r/e bag (I use a TYR tri backpack that's navy and pink, and that I LOVE but it's big). But one thing that really does help me stay consistent is keeping my bag loaded with doubles. I think it's a great idea, and I hope it helps you stay on track!

Ok, now THAT is cute!!
I have a Lululemon bag, but it really isn't very useful for a huge load of stuff. Good for a swim suit and towel.
I too am a sucker for cute fashion!
