Running gear for tall people

Postby RayMan » Fri Nov 25, 2005 9:11 am

Anyone over 6'4" know the best place to get running gear for us lanky people? My girlfriend bought me some RR tights and a jacket, both XL, but the tights are too short and the sleeves of the jacket are too short as well.

Are there better brands out there which fit long limbs better?

It's always the opposite for me. RR doesn't carry Small and medium is too long for me. Maybe I could cut my gears and you sew my leftovers on your gears.

Nike women's tights tend to be longer than the men's. Go figure!

MEC does sell some stuff in men's tall. I had to look in the cycling section to find it.

Try here and here.

Slightly short leggings is a situation where I find ski socks come in handy. Try black leggings with black high socks.

Looks better - although their XXL only has 33.5 in inseam. I am a 36 in inseam...although they mention tall sizes as well. I will have to visit them this weekend.

Thanks BJH

The website sizing chart says tall sizes get an extra two inches on the inseam. The stuff I linked to comes in tall.

Be sure to check both the cycling and active wear section of the store.

lululemon has a men's running tight that's pretty long....or the "untight" as they call it. Wayyy too long for my man that's for sure.

MEC was definitely the place to go. Thanks BJH. Running Room had a larger, long size for jackets but not for tights. I am fully kitted out for winter running now - cheers!
