my new baby :)

no it's not a bike, lol.

I broke down today and bought an mp3 player. they are getting cheaper by the week and my diskman has been giving me problems...

I got a relatively cheap one--Creative MuVo, 512MB. They are regular $119 but I got an open box one for $75 so that's good (the warranty is still 1 year).

Instead of a USB cable you actually pull part of it out of itself and it plugs directly into the USB slot like a flash memory device--in fact, it DOUBLES as a flash memory device, so that's cool.

Download times are quick! Only a second or two per song.

The challenge now is finding an armband that fits. I tried bestbuy, future shop, the source, walmart, and superstore. They all carry the Ipod ones, which are way too big (this thing's tiny). So I'll probably have to find one on ebay.

this is the one :)

Holly-
I have a creative muvo and it ROCKS! Similar style-- mine is only 256K, but it's still plenty for me. Mine came with an armband that I dont use. But it also came with a belt clip (that I do use); you have to use the belt clip with the arm band.

Does yours have a belt clip? I'd send you my armband if you can use it.

mine is this one

it didn't come with either... and your model is actually just slightly larger than mine. I can't find an armband for my model on their site, so I've posted a message on their forums asking if the other one would work... if it will, then I will pick one up on ebay. :)

My armband would fit any one that has a belt clip-- the clip just hooks onto the band. The size of the unit doesn't really matter-- it's hard to explain, but I guess you'd have to see the band to get it. It's too bad you can't use it.

well, then I could use the armband with any belt clip? i wonder if it would be easier to find a belt clip than both pieces...?

me silly. there's a picture of the armband on the website, too. But it looks like it's not compatible with yours.

Let me know how much you like in a couple of week Holly.

I am finally going to get one after X-mas... just waiting to see if one will be under the tree first

Holly,

You might want to try to call the Creative Call Centre, and ask about the arm band and clip. I purchased a Creative Jukebox from Ebay and it was missing the power adaptor, I called them to purchase one, and they sent me one for free. It's worth a try.

holy cow!!

yes, they do make them. $19.99 US. I thought that was manageable until he checked the shipping price. $30+US just for the shipping! That would mean around $80 Canadian for a little armband! yikes. not a chance.

He gave me the part number so I can continue to look for it here, and recommended Office Depot. If worse comes to worst, I'll have an american friend receive it and send it to me... that'd be much cheaper... yikes.

I figured out my own solution.

:)

I went to the RR and got a velcro, reflective armband.

I then went to fabricland and got some self-adhesive velcro strips.

I cut them to size and stuck them on the back of my mp3 player. Now it sticks to my armband.

yay for improvisation! lol
