MEC has great prices on Garmins

Postby Jwolf » Wed Jun 01, 2011 1:15 pm

I just noticed that they've dropped their prices a bit on some of the older models:

205: $125
305: $175
405: $245

These are really good prices, and MEC is excellent for service.

At $125 it's almost worth having a second...

Hmm... it's on this page but not coming up when I click on it:

http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_deta ... 4302888930

perhaps that means they are now sold out. :(

They are discontinued most other places, that's why I wondered. 305's are $145 free shipping at Amazon.ca, and $137 plus shipping at http://www.gpscentral.ca/products/garmin/forerunner305.htm

Oh, I think I willl check out the mec here in Halifax (I think Halifax has an mec). I would like to pick up a extra 205. I don't have any use for the HRM feature.

Speaking of garmins... can anyone hook me up with that thread that talks about how to revive an apparently dead Garmin? (305)... or I may have to buy an Edge! (Since I no longer run)

Go for the Edge ... :shifty:

Only thing I can remember is holding down the start/stop and lap buttons while pressing on the ON/OFF button to reset it ...

Have you tried the hard reset? You press down Hold, Lap, and Power all together for 5 seconds and then release. Then press power again.

Thanks! That's what I was looking for - and it worked!
Much appreciated Jen!
... and Andy - you gave me a chuckle - thanks for that, too! :D
