Hahahaha...I had to read this twice to get some of the humor "symmetrical lace eyelets; and ovoid ankle-hole on top, for easy insertion of the foot." Love it.

According to one review I read, they work well for slicing your leg. The reviewer got a minor cut when the sole of one shoe made contact with his other calf, something that happens to me quite frequently (the contact, not the cut).

There's a review on Can Running saying its made for heavier runners and/or rear foot striking. But the editor had good foot striking - no calf hits.

Not sure what heel striking has to do with whether or not you brush your calf with the shoe once in a while.
