Salomon Snowcross

Postby MTBLANC » Thu Nov 27, 2014 11:48 pm

Good evening everybody!

I am new on this forum. I just would like to know if somebody has/had the Salomon Snowcross running shoes.
I live in Yukon, and would be interested purchasing one pair for the winter.
Thanks a lot for your sharing your advice/experience.

Hey MTBlanc, I've not ran in these exactly but have tried no less than 4 pair of Salomon. While many like the brand I'm not one of them. I consider Salomon shoes for people without toes. They're typically much too low volume, and narrow forefoot. I've also struggled with the the location of the zigzag on the speed cross which lines nicely with my arch causing blisters. Salomon are the only shoes to ever give me blisters. I sadly gave away a pair of s-labs xt's last weekend, and for the price that hurt.

Perhaps look at Inov-8s they're much more forgiving.

Thank you Tom!

In fact I am an addict of the brand. I already purchased three pairs of Salomon, my two past ones lasted 1,000 kms each with no issues.
I found them very comfortable but that's all about your anatomy.

I finally purchased one pair here and i will let you know about my experience...

I purchased a pair of the speedcross 3's with goretext for the winter. Don't know if that's the same thing?

So far - decent on trails, slightly uncomfortable running long distances on pavement. I took it out for a 20km hybrid trail/pavement run and my feet survived. It will be my main winter commuting shoe for when the snow and ice come back.
